Love that this isn’t just to dig up the gems, but to have them organized with information about each in a little collection. The best part is the case with individual labeled compartments to keep them in afterward, or they can be displayed on the little plastic stands. A great gift for a kid who loves gems and wants to feel like they have their own little expert’s collection or mini museum. The only downside might be if you get this for a party, as I did, per my kid’s request. I’ve seen kits like this that come with 12 but are designed for kids at a party to each have one. One of my others had a Dino egg dig set that came with 12 picks for each child to hack their own egg apart with, which we didn’t need because it was only for one kid. This gem one was purchased for a party, so I was really sorry to break up the collection. But it’s what the birthday child wanted. It's slightly messy but man does this occupy your kiddos time. Hours of fun and they get so excited when they find a new bone or stone. Definitely put a baking sheet down to help with the dusty mess. Will definitely purchase again

Kids loved it. Took 3-5 mins per rock to find the gem. Only comes with one set of tools, so plan ahead. Also be sure to make it an outdoor activity and keep a bowl of water to keep the dust down and wash off the gems.
