This was supposed to be a father-son project ended up being a family project. We enjoyed going outside adjusting the solar panel waiting for clouds to pass and then watching our creation move! The instructions strongly recommend keeping the pieces organized and I agree with that makes it easier to make new builds. As you can only build one thing at a time. He did try to use a light bulb shining on the PV panel. We only had LED and Compact Fluorescent Bulbs.... They didn't really work no matter how high of the equivalent wattage rating we went. Think I had one bulb that was equivalent to a 100 w incandescent. Never did try an incandescent bulb I wonder if that would work better ... show more

The solar panel and battery are extremely touchy. It only works in DIRECT sunlight and then stops almost right after. Not the best quality, but decent for the money!
