  • So far so good
These are priced great. They mount easy and seem well made. I have been threw many storms and have been lucky thus far

  • no impact on ethernet
Plugs in easily. No impact on ethernet performance. Of course, I won't know if it works as a surge suppressor unless I get hit with a surge. Would be nice if it included a short ethernet cord.

  • Compact and Priced Right
What can I say, this surge suppressor was just what I was looking for. I had a wireless internet service coming out to my house, and wanted to make sure I installed on of these to protect my equipment inside from lightning. Of course, I haven't had any lightning strikes, but this product does help provide that peace of mind. I will update if its durability is ever tested. I will say, I wish the grounding was a bit better, like a double nut setup, but it works.... ... show more

  • A must for WISPs or for installing network cameras.
Does what it says. Has saved indoor equipment on more than one occasion for me. If your rooftop radio gets struck by lightning it will get fried. These will not save it. They're not designed to. They're designed to keep the lightning from traveling down the ethernet cable and damaging the equipment on the other end. My only complaint to Ubiquiti is that they should provide a lug to attach the ground wire to rather than having to crimp a ring terminal to the wire, which adds an extra step to my install process. This is why I removed one star. Otherwise it's a great product at a very reasonable price. NOTE TO FIRST TIME USERS: You must install a ground wire or screw it to a grounded metal surface, otherwise it will not save your equipment. Without a ground it's just a fancy ethernet coupler. ... show more

  • Makes for a convenient outdoor disconnect
I believe this does what it's supposed to do. If you connect everything right, I think you'll be able to ground shielded cable to dissipate most electrical buildup... In the event of a lightning strike or something, will it protect anything? I don't know... Doubtful, but certainly better than nothing! For me, the biggest benefit is to have a point of disconnect and flexibility when you have an exterior AP or something like a Starlink dish, or IP camera, especially if you're moving devises around much... ... show more

  • Hope it works
Seem nice enough but honestly won't know if they work for a while. As for people complaining about they didn't send the ground screw with it. All you need is a 6-32 screw and nut. Its not that big of a deal. Or use a self tapper to hold it down if your going into grounded steel.

  • No drop in speed
No noticeable drop in speed using speedtest.net before and after installing this device.
