I’m impressed. I live in Florida where summers can be brutal on hair that has a little bit of wave. I’m not a fan of flat irons because they make my hair too flat and limp. I love how easy it is to use this brush. It’s a little pricey but I think it’s well worth the money for how easy and well it works. I used the brush to remove the humidity friz and then used a 2” barrel curling iron for some style. Took me about 5 minutes.fabulous! The temp control settings are an added plus.

I bought the TYMO Hair Straightener Brush about 3 years ago when I was fully in my “pin straight hair every day or I feel unfinished” era. You know that phase where you suddenly decide your natural texture is great… but straight hair still feels like the main character look? Yeah, that one. At the time, I wanted something easier than a traditional flat iron. I’ve used plenty of those over the years, but I always found myself doing the slow clamp-and-glide routine that somehow takes longer than it should and still leaves me wondering if I missed a section in the back. This brush felt like a shortcut in the best way. Instead of flat plates, it works like a heated comb, so I could literally just brush through my hair and watch it smooth out as I went. It made the whole process feel less like styling and more like… brushing my hair, but upgraded. The dense bristles actually grab a decent amount of hair, so I wasn’t going over the same section a hundred times. It heats up pretty quickly, and the temperature range is solid. I usually found a setting that worked for my hair type without feeling like I had to crank it to the highest level just to see results. It also has that ionic + ceramic thing going on, and while I don’t overthink the science of it, I do notice less frizz and more shine compared to some older tools I’ve used. What really impressed me over time is reliability. I used this almost daily for close to 2 years, and it never gave me issues turning on or heating up properly. No weird glitches, no fading performance—just consistent use, which is honestly what matters most with hot tools. It also saves time. Once you get the motion down, it really does cut down the morning styling routine. It’s not a “perfect salon blowout in 5 minutes” fantasy, but it absolutely makes straightening faster and less effort-heavy than a traditional flat iron. Now I’ve kind of rotated back into my curly hair era, so it doesn’t get daily use anymore. But I still reach for it anytime I want a straight hair day without committing to a whole styling session. And every time, it still delivers exactly what I need. If I had one gentle note, it’s that like most brush-style straighteners, technique matters a bit. You can’t rush it or it won’t smooth as evenly—but once you figure out your rhythm, it becomes really easy to use. At around $60, it felt like a worthwhile investment for how much use I got out of it, especially during the years I was reaching for it constantly. Overall, it’s one of those tools that quietly earns its place in your routine and just keeps showing up when you need it.

If you have naturally thick Black hair, this tool will not fully straighten your hair like a Brazilian blowout or the video clips. The hair is puffy but straighter, as the heated brush stretches the natural coil. I have worn my hair natural for 10+ years and decided to add a little heat. The 240 temp straightens the hair somewhat before it is semi-braided again. I will keep the brush because it lets me maintain a relaxed style when taking a break from cornrows.

This appliance can eliminate flat-irons forever. I was at my stylist when I was talking about how to keep my chemically-straightened hair STRAIGHT between chemical-straightening sessions (which, for me, occur about once every four to six months). When I need to go to special events, I have trouble reaching every section of my long hair with my flat-iron (especially on the back of my head), so I must look really weird, lol. My stylist brought out this TYMO Hair Straightener Brush and instantly straightened (and smoothed!) my hair with it. I proceeded to buy it off Amazon while sitting right there in the salon chair. If you need straight hair immediately, on your own, buy this thing! Word to the wise, part one: It gets rippin' hot! After use, unplug it and put it on a kitchen trivet if you have to! Word to the wise, part two: Do NOT use this on wet or even damp hair! Your hair must be bone dry!
