This has its good and not so good qualities, and I am in a cut to the chase mood after using this for curling and straightening. The Good Stuff Heats FAST. 30-60 seconds and it’s ready to go. Swivel cord, so no awkward cord yanks or kinks that make gliding thru hair more difficult Compact enough to be travel portable Not bulky means less weight / light in the hand and less tiring to use Comes with silicone lined glove, a couple styling clips and a case for travel or storage Nice indented/ hollowed out grip design at the edge if the iron, to add stability and at the risk of being repetitive…grip Sleek plates that glide in a single pass. A big yay for that Not so sure about… The grip design because as other reviewers have directly noted, this gets in the way when using as a curling tool. Hair catches and causes annoying indentation crimp marks. So I don’t recommend this to use as a beach wave curling tool. A murmured boo for this. No switch for turning on or off. But…it does turn off after five minutes when the iron is open. That’s not desirable for me. I like to switch my hair tools on and off b with power buttons, not by activating or deactivating the tool with the plug. If that is your preference as well, just be aware. No way to clamp this closed for storage. So it is a bit tedious having to use the sleeve to put this away in a clamped or shut position. Again, just be aware esp if you’re a gal like me racing out of the bathroom to get out the door, last minute. Overall This is a bit pricey for a straightener that doesn’t clamp shut, have a power switch and that has a pretty design but one that interferes with using this tool for curling purposes. However as a straightener this glides with one pass and the tool itself is pack able and portable for travel. Actually, just writing this summary leads me to say that this may be a better tool for travel vs daily use esp if only using as a straightener. Better to read up on this one first, to be sure it’s right for you.

I really like this. It heats up a lot quicker than my old Chi, and glides a lot nicer over my hair. There’s no tugging or snagging. I use it with a heat protectant spray and always have smooth results. One thing to be sure of is remove the clear cling film over the plates before you first use it. They are not noticeable and if you forget they’ll melt! I wish there was a way to mute the noise because it’s a little loud when it beeps but I don’t stay in a hotel enough for this to be any sort of issue

This TYMO flat iron is very easy to use—just plug it in, and it powers on as soon as you pick it up. There’s no separate switch to toggle, which makes it ideal when you’re in a rush. The heat-up time is impressively fast, allowing you to start styling almost immediately. I especially appreciate this feature during my busy mornings. Although it doesn’t have a locking mechanism to keep the plates closed, the included heat-protected case makes storage simple and safe. The 1-inch size is a bit small for long hair if you're aiming for a full styling session, but it's perfect for quick touch-ups. Overall, a compact and reliable tool for everyday use or travel.

I have never had a flat iron before so I didn't know what I was missing! I've, of course, done my best to straighten my hair with a regular curling iron but even the ceramic ones really pull and damage my hair. This iron glides along without any damage. I especially like that you can dial it to a specific LED heat number instead of just guessing what would work best. It also comes with a heat protecting glove and a bag for storage. It's a really nice product.
