No. It uses a clamp-on design and can be installed in about 30 minutes with basic hand tools. Will it stay secured at highway speed? Yes. Built-in crossbars add structural tension and keep the tarp tight and stable while driving. Is the T1 waterproof? It’s weather-resistant with edge seals that block rain, snow and dust. Can I lock my truck bed with this cover installed? The cover seals under the tailgate, so locking the tailgate secures the bed. Will it fit with a bed liner? It fits under-rail and spray-in liners. I love it. Very easy to install. Fits as described. I like that it's slightly curved outward or domed, so water or snow drains out rather than accumulating in the middle. Affordable and easy to use or install. It looks weird at first, but it actually makes better sense. You also get that little space from the curved part, so you can fit your stuff a little more than a flat one would. The material is strong and has withstood several car washes. Ordered this for my Nissan Frontier. The installation took about 30 mins and was quite easy. No special tools other than a socket wrench and phillips screwdriver were needed. The installation is intuitive enough that the instructions are barely needed. This is the second roll-up cover I owned, I also had one on my previous vehicle, a Ram 1500. This cover is very good. The vinyl is very thick and heavy-duty. The cross-members are curved to facilitate drainage, something most other covers don't offer. The release mechanism runs the full width of the bed, so you can unlatch the cover easily from either side or the center. Weather stripping is provided, too. The component quality is very good, all the parts were made to high tolerances and installed on my vehicle exactly as expected, everything lined up perfectly. I'm very happy with this cover, it's "OEM" quality and matches the vehicle perfectly, giving it a much better look than an open bed. Don't waste time waffling over which cover to get, you won't regret this one, just get it. ... show more

OK for price, clamp design could be better

Fairly easy to install, but the clamp design could be better. Getting those adjusted/tightened was a pain as you need both hands and 2 separate tools to hold the nut in place while you tighten the bolts. Other brands have much better designed clamps. Overall, the instructions are worthless, but plenty of install videos on the internet. Looks good on my Frontier with only a tiny bit of leakage at the tailgate and up front by the cab after driving 60-65 in the rain and strong winds for a few hours. I expected that and think it's impossible to have any of these covers be 100% waterproof. And, be prepared, it will flutter while going down the road. But, the price was reasonable and hopefully it will last for a few years. ... show more

So far the topper is doing great. Very easy to roll up so the full truck bed is available. The truck stays in the garage, so I can't attest to hoe dry it keeps things. I let the truck in the sun after it was 90% installed. Once it was warmed up, everything clicked snugly into place. This fit my 26 Frontier very good. I installed it myself in about an hour. Took a couple of breaks because it was 94 degrees here in Florida at the time. Quality of the fabric seems very good. ... show more

Good roll up for the money

Fits my frontier very well, keeps everything dry, I like the roll up compared to the trifold with the short bed, opens and closes just as easy as the trifold but gives me more room, and with the trifold that I had on my ford when it was folded i could only access ⅔ of the bed and it acted as a parachute when driving on the highway, I really wanted a a hard cover roll up but they were too expensive. So this one fits me just fine and does what it is suppose to. Plus for the money, after a year so far, it still looks good. no issues with it, I like the one handed release to open it also. ... show more
