Alternator was installed and working fine, but 45 days after installation it died. The supplier wants me to send back a pallet of alternators?? Who would have thought that I would be able to find a new alternator for my 2011 Kia Optima on Amazon? I am not a mechanic and I probably should have also replaced the assisting components. Installation was frustrating but that is a Kia issue. Turned the key and the car was running. Woohoo. Thanks for providing a reasonably well-priced replacement part. August 1st, rec'd P2503 error code on Kia. Charging system low voltage. :-( I purchased insurance with it because we all know that we get what we pay for.     • Cheap fix if your into replacing it in 2 months.
This product came with a 30 day warranty. Honestly, I didn’t look at that before purchasing and that is totally on me. Less than 60 days into this alternator, it started giving us trouble. We initially replaced the battery thinking it might be the problem, but then we were getting persistent battery codes for low voltage. Turns out this alternator was working, but only partially so it wasn’t charging the battery well. Today, not quite 6 months after purchase, it officially totally crapped out and left my wife stranded on her way to work. After the cost of this alternator, the tow bill, and another alternator at the local parts stores, I could have just bought brand new to start with and paid someone else to install it.     • Excellent alternator, works perfect.
No issues, two wire connectors plugged in no issue, looks like it is also compatable with 3 wire connectors, plug location is slightly different, harness reaches, wrapped silicone tape around harness just for protection from heat just in case, doesn't look like it will touch anything.

    • Voltage output is not at MFG's spec
I've had this alternator for only five months and just checked the output voltage. It's running at 12.7V, which is well below spec., but high enough to keep car running. Not sure what this voltage does for sensors that require a known voltage. I don't see anyway to return or exchange this product for a working unit. ... show more
