Description

To restore your vehicle's factory cooling efficiency, all TYC radiators are equivalent to OE construction for number and placement of fluid tubes and cooling fins. For those radiators with transmission oil coolers, the tanks are molded using heat-resistant, high-density polymer plastic for added protection against extreme engine temperatures. Each TYC radiator is leak-tested before leaving the factory to ensure consistent quality.

    • An adequate radiator
This radiator is an adequate replacement, the dimensions are slightly taller than my factory radiator. The new radiator also does not include an o-ring for the fan switch which threads into the lower corner of this radiator. You can buy a metric o-ring kit at the harbor freight near you to find an adequate size replacement or buy a kit of them off amazon, I needed one right then and happened to have an o-ring kit from the harbor. I had to put a few fender washers under the upper hold downs to not over compress the rubber mounts in the metal radiator hold down brackets. I have no leaks or other issues, I did have to drain the coolant due to the used o-ring leaking initially, the new o-ring fixed my leak at the fan switch. It would be beneficial if the manufacturers included an o-ring for the switch. ... show more

    • Nice radiator for the price
I liked how it fit just like the original and no issues it keeps motor I think a bit cooler from the temp Gage as I see it...the old one was leaking on the right hand lower corner if you facing car from the front of hood I think since the bottoms and tops of these radiators are crimped and there must be a seal in between them I had to get it changed out as it was getting worse..also flush out the old coolant a few times with distilled water only use distilled water and concentrate coolant 60/40 coolant/ water ratio for me I live in Northeast part of USA... Toyota made it simple to change out these radiators on these Camry and Avalon there change out the same way , easy..also don't forget u will lose some transmission oil when u loosen up the trans cooler lines...fill with appropriate type of transmission fluid no messing around use what dipstick says only..also it's good thing to change out radiator because on my Camry the transmission cooler merged with the coolant side and luckily I drained and filled my transmission out like 5 times , expensive but I would of ruined it . The coolant had and the transmission had coolant so on these radiators after you know after years and years it's a good thing to change out the radiator anyway just for that in case it happens which more than likely it will just about every car on the road that has a radiator with a transmission cooler side by side or built-in like that it will merge and caused this to happen which if you continue to drive on that transmission with the antifreeze inside your transmission will become a toast also the temperature in your motor will rise to because it's not being cooled by the antifreeze anymore because now it's mixed with transmission fluid it's just a mess I found out the hard way so it's always great to have a new radiator because it'll lesson this problem it's not just a Toyota problem a lot of cars have this issue we can thank the engineers nowadays for for helping us out right? ... show more

Great price for a exact fit radiator. 2002 Toyota Avalon. Transmission lines and all captive nut tabs aligned perfectly. This radiator is for the NON tow package.
