  • A lot of performance for the money
Color: Tts-55(40w)
To start. I am not super knowledgeable, when it comes to lasers..... yet. I have had the SculpFun S9 laser, for a few months. That's given me some time to familiarize myself with the craft, and start making work that I'm happy with. I got this TwoTrees machine, to compare to my Sculpfun, and to add to my productivity. There are a few negatives, in my testing, but overall, I'm very impressed. I'll start with the negatives, inconveniences, or room for improvement. - the left motor assembly has room for improvement. To be clear, it works great, but it was a pain to assemble. - included material to practice on (plywood, balsa, acrylic, etc) would be nice. After assembly, the first thing that I want to do is see how the machine works, but all that they include is a sheet of cardboard. - The instructions has a couple of stickers added, to correct the assembly order, which is great..... but the stickers are placed AFTER the step that ypu should temporarily skip. So it is a little misleading. - Adjusting the Z-axis is REALLY slow, but is also really precise, so a pro and con in one. That's all that I can think of. A few mild inconveniences. The pros are many. - Well packaged - Nice instructions with clear, color coded, instructions. - Multiple ways to contact support, if you encounter any issues, placed in the instructions and on the packaging. - Despite being a little time consuming to assemble, the build quality, and final product, feel great. Very sturdy and well built. - Very accurate and consistent engravings and cut lines. Even at 5,000mm/m - Magnetized laser shield is very convenient In the photos, the front cut is the TwoTrees machine, and the back cut is the Sculpfun machine. It is a very small cut, and both perform well, but you can see how nice the results are from the TwoTrees laser. The Sculpfun machine was easier to assemble and took about an hour, while the TwoTrees machine was more of a struggle and took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Also, the Sculpfun is a bigger workspace. (400x410mm vs 300x300mm) Other than those two things, I feel like TwoTrees wins in all other categories. I'm not disappointed with either machine, but if you don't need the larger machine, I would suggest the TwoTrees. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and use, amazing results
Color: Tts-10(80w)
Compared to many etcher / cutters at higher cost this does amazing work. Was able to etch wood and cut through thin wood on the first day out of the box with some minor fiddling with the Lightburn software. I have already made flasks, cutting boards, glasses, and some signs with it. Very easy to use and no issues after about a month of pretty solid lasering. ... show more

  • Mine was broken
Color: TTS-20 pro(160W)
So my laser was defective. I sent numerous emails and no response. I wound up returning through amazon and it took over 3 weeks to get a refund. Was going to order another one as the set up was easy, but after the customer service I decided to buy a different one.

  • Not Ideal for Precision Applications
Color: Tts-55(40w)
I've been using this laser cutter for a few months, now. There are a few things that I really like, and some things that I don't. When I first started trying to get this laser cutter to work, I had a terrible time getting good software for it. The manufacturer suggests using LightBurn or LaserGRBL. Unfortunately, neither of these were options, for me, because I'm a Linux user, and am interested in using open-source software. I spent over a week, attempting different open-source, Linux options. It was a very frustrating experience until I finally found OctoPrint. OctoPrint is a Linux, open-source, project that allows you to control this laser cutter, while using a Raspberry Pi. When using a Raspberry Pi, the setup is referred to as OctoPi, and has proven to be the perfect solution, for me. Without OctoPrint, and the OctoPi setup, this laser cutter is just a $280 paper weight, as far as I'm concerned. This is because you can't make it work without appropriate software, and, like I've said, the original options aren't ideal solutions for Linux users who want to stick with open-source software. With OctoPi, I'm able to use the machine with great ease and simplicity. However, I've now come to realize that this machine's mechanical setup, isn't ideal for precision applications. I'm talking about the belts and frame setup. This is the first laser cutter that I've ever used. So, I'm not able to compare it with other designs. However, the capability of the machine to make precise, accurate cuts, is critically based on the belt and frame system. Unfortunately, this system isn't so great for precision work. This is because the belts have to be adjusted, just right, in order to get good results. If they're too tight, or too loose, a precise pattern will have significant flaws. Because I'm human, and can never achieve perfection, this sort of setup causes issues. Certain portions of my results may look good, sometimes, but unacceptable, other times. I've searched for laser cutters that don't use belts, but haven't found too many such designs. This leads me to believe that it's merely an issue with the quality of this machine. Perhaps if I bought one that costs a lot more, I'd get better, more consistent, results. If you're using this laser cutter to engrave pictures or non-precise designs, then it may be okay. However, if you're cutting geometrical patterns, whose precision is critical, then you may have to toy with it; which is frustrating. I should also point out that this machine doesn't come with any sort of fume extractor. I had to build my own. If you search YouTube, and look for safety videos on laser cutters, you'll see why these sorts of bare-bones laser cutters can be dangerous, if you don't supplement them with the necessary components, like a fume extractor. For $280, this isn't a bad machine. However, if I had to do it all over again, I'd probably get something that is more expensive, with a better belt and frame system. ... show more

For the most part, machine works as advertised for the value you spend. The air pump quit after about 5 uses and have had no success going through amazon to get this corrected.

  • Affordable and easy to use laser engraver
Color: Tts-55(40w)
The media could not be loaded. I bought this affordable unit to learn the basics of how to use the pathing software and test out settings so that I can make some things for a farmers market and for my school. It was not hard at all. After taking about 80 minutes to assemble and 20 min to figure out the free to use software, I was getting it working fine. ... show more
