  • Great unit for the price
Size: 5.5W
The media could not be loaded. Unit just kinda worked once you figure out how to put it together. Not really trivial to do (and I am an engineer). The videos with the disco music didn't help much online. The details of what comes in the future when building just aren't there in any of their instructions, so plan at least 2 hours to put it together and don't get too frustrated when you have to take stuff apart to finish up details that were missing earlier in the instructions. The controller is a ESP32. It seems to work great. If you have done an engraver before or a mini CNC or a laser printer. The GRBL code is the Arduino code to run the stepper motors and to trigger the laser. This works like that, but it's nice because many of the parts are interchangeable with any of these units. This one is made with fairly good components all around. The fact that two in sync stepper motors are used for the Y axis makes this laser etcher more precise and solid than cheaper units. The precision of the components and the laser seem good. You can tell from the album cover the level of detail and I am still learning. That was pine too which is one of the worst woods to etch on. I started to retrofit a CNC 3018 in 2021 because these things were so expensive then. I had life happen and I decided to get back to that project and now these things are so reasonably priced it's not worth disabling the CNC and switching stuff around! Unless you need a professional unit, are etching metals (fiber laser for that) or are doing mostly cutting, this unit is adequate for most uses. This unit is a little smaller than most. It isn't really a downside unless you need the bigger area as it's more stable being smaller, and it's a much better size for putting on a desk this way. It's an incredibly fun toy and this one is very well put together. What you see here was done with LaserGRBL too, so free and open source software. Unit uses a CH340 type usb serial interface so it's easy to. Install drivers for, and you probably already have. The ESP32 also is coded to act like a wifi access point and you casn run it from a phone or that way via a driver but meh, USB is too easy.. ... show more

  • Waste of money
Size: 5.5W
I bought this product on January 9, 2025. I have not been able to do a single job that comes out of good quality, I have not been able to cut 1mm plywood. The warranty they offer me in the after-sales department is not covering the product warranty, the laser does not work as described in the sale, it does not engrave well, it does bad jobs and it does not cut, I have done what the manufacturer tells me to do, sending emails tells me one thing, I do it, they tell me to do something else, I do it again and nothing has worked, a bad shopping experience and a waste of money. I hope they can cover the warranty on this product since so far they are only telling me to do things and nothing they tell me works. ... show more

  • A lot of performance for the money
Size: 5.5W
To start. I am not super knowledgeable, when it comes to lasers..... yet. I have had the SculpFun S9 laser, for a few months. That's given me some time to familiarize myself with the craft, and start making work that I'm happy with. I got this TwoTrees machine, to compare to my Sculpfun, and to add to my productivity. There are a few negatives, in my testing, but overall, I'm very impressed. I'll start with the negatives, inconveniences, or room for improvement. - the left motor assembly has room for improvement. To be clear, it works great, but it was a pain to assemble. - included material to practice on (plywood, balsa, acrylic, etc) would be nice. After assembly, the first thing that I want to do is see how the machine works, but all that they include is a sheet of cardboard. - The instructions has a couple of stickers added, to correct the assembly order, which is great..... but the stickers are placed AFTER the step that ypu should temporarily skip. So it is a little misleading. - Adjusting the Z-axis is REALLY slow, but is also really precise, so a pro and con in one. That's all that I can think of. A few mild inconveniences. The pros are many. - Well packaged - Nice instructions with clear, color coded, instructions. - Multiple ways to contact support, if you encounter any issues, placed in the instructions and on the packaging. - Despite being a little time consuming to assemble, the build quality, and final product, feel great. Very sturdy and well built. - Very accurate and consistent engravings and cut lines. Even at 5,000mm/m - Magnetized laser shield is very convenient In the photos, the front cut is the TwoTrees machine, and the back cut is the Sculpfun machine. It is a very small cut, and both perform well, but you can see how nice the results are from the TwoTrees laser. The Sculpfun machine was easier to assemble and took about an hour, while the TwoTrees machine was more of a struggle and took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Also, the Sculpfun is a bigger workspace. (400x410mm vs 300x300mm) Other than those two things, I feel like TwoTrees wins in all other categories. I'm not disappointed with either machine, but if you don't need the larger machine, I would suggest the TwoTrees. ... show more
