Advantages of this machine: You can start with a low budget and scale to a more powerful one. The cuts are clean as long as you find the right setting. Slow, but for the price it's ok. Easy to assemble, I had a problem at the beginning, then with simple logic I was able to solve it. The Bad In the photos you will see the laser I received was setup for air assist. I received the hose and block attachment for such despite not ordering any. Naturally their was no pump so it took a while to figure out what was screwed into the laser head. The guard block was included with some sheared off screw ends. You'll see in the pic what I ended up with, it doesn't sit right bc it was extremely difficult to get those screwed in The safety glasses also had some scratches on it as well. All in all I can only assume I was shipped a return unit. I have no idea on the lifespan of the laserhead since I don't know how many hours were already put on it. The lens itself didn't seem scratched or damaged. The wifi capability is a great addon to this project however the esp32 doesn't seem to store the wifi credentials so it is reset after each power off. The machine is quite loud on idle so I cannot see anyone leaving the machine powered up indefinately. The Good. Once the unit was put together, I must say I am impressed with the strength of the laser. I can engrave slate easily as well as hard woods. I haven't done any cutting tests soon as I am waiting for materials but I have no doubt it would perform well based on what I have seen so far. The frame is sturdy, and the cabling is quite easy to manage. Honestly, the only thing that needs fixing on this machine is storing the wifi credentials. Hopefully a firmware update will be released to resolve this. ... show more

    • It’s ok for the money
If you want a cheap laser for basic engraving this is for you but the frame and laser mount is very flimsy so this would not be good for precision work. I enjoyed for about 2 weeks and already looking to get something better like the Xtool D1 Pro that has an all metal frame. Can’t return this one because I used it too much and didn’t keep the packaging so will use it as a back up for basic shape and text engraving for smaller projects. ... show more

Assembly instructions are a bit confusing. Pictures are misleading and I had to disassemble some because it was backwards. But after the frustration of assembly, I am having a blast working with it. Learning more every session. Machine is quiet and fast. Very satisfied with it and would highly recommend to anyone interested in engraving, carving or cutting wood and other materials. I have only had it for a short period of time, but it seems to do a good job. I'm having a little trouble learning how to actually cut with it. And the focus tool that I got was a plastic one, not the metal one shown in the pictures. Other than that, it seems to work really well.

The media could not be loaded. I had one laser engraver earlier which I used for a while, the issue I had is that I have to run that in my garage while I do all the design in my office. Every time I have to print something I have to copy that to a PC attached to The laser and then start it. Anyone coming from a 3D Printing background will have this as an issue. This laser is an absolute solution to the issue. I can design things in my office export them to gcode, copy the gcode in sd card and run the laser out of the code. I also can use the dlc32 mobile app or the web interface to start the framing and printing. I also have bought MKS TS35 touch screen for this laser and will put it after I make a case for Screen. That will make this laser completely offline. Print quality-wise, It has accurate power to cut through the 3mm birch in < 5 passes. The resolution is also great to print a fine line. Bought this on a lightning deal that reduced price down to $223 a few days ago and package arrived today. Great little machine but will take some time for some "non-tinkerers" to learn how to use it and get the most out of it. I have lots of experience with 3D FDM printers, so the lateral move to laser engravers/cutters was pretty easy. The bonus I got with mine was my laser unit came with the blow block (with shield built in), air hose, fittings and matching focus tool that normally comes with the AirAssist pump kit. :) Not sure why this was included but I'm not complaining!! The only thing I am missing from having a full AirAssist setup is the pump and it's power supply. Quick googling shows other "alternative" pumps to use for AirAssist so I may be picking up one of those soon. ... show more
