My hair is a mix of 3a and 3b. Its really thick and medium porosity. I've had trouble finding a good gel for a while. My previous favorite curl quench gel by Maui moisturize isn't available anymore so I thought I'd do some research and try something new. Thought I'd order this as it was a recommendation from a curly hair influencer and boy were the results better than I had hoped! Not only is this gel light weight, but it has great hold, smells good and leaves a cast. For those of you who don't know what a cast is, it's when the gel becomes crunchy after drying. I prefer gel with a cast so I can scrunch it out. After scrunching out the cast I'm left with soft and defined curls with no crunch! I litteraly was like "omg omg" the whole time I was diffusing.     • Works great and doesn't leave hair crunchy
I am extremely happy with this gel! I use it in combination with another product and my waves/curls are looking great. I love that it helps form the curls but you can't tell that I have a lot of product in my hair because it's not crunchy.

I was so surprised with this gel, literally blew me away! 10/10 recommend it for those who need protein in their gels. Provides such a nice slip to the hair and dries so nicely, my curls look for "tamed" for the southern humidity that usually makes it look like a rats nest. I was using Deva Curl ultra defining gel, but I was looking for something more affordable and I am even more satisfied with the results of this gel. I will say a little goes a long way, first time I used way to much product and it did weigh my hair down. Left me wanting to try more products from twist. ... show more

This gel is great. It doesn’t leave a strong cast so I didn’t think it would hold well, but I really get good frizz control from this. It just looks really nice and on day 2 my hair is still really soft. I’ll have to use it for longer but so far so good.

    • Defined feels soft
This product works nicely. I use the plopping method and it comes out great. You'll have to experiment with how much you need to use. Less length, less product..more length a bit more product. But you don't need lots and lots of it. Just make sure you cover all your hair in it. Once it dried it will essentially full hard, (it's supposed to) but once you "break it" it super soft! Don't need to go crazy when breaking it. Gently take apart hair in pieces to keep curls defined. Flip head and gently run fingers through hair again separating pieces. ... show more
