This 10" queen mattress arrives rolled and compressed in plastic and box. Use care when slicing the plastic that you don't cut into the mattress. I used an inexpensive specialty blade designed for cutting the wrapping off of luggage that is security wrapped at foreign airports. The mattress opened instantly. We opened it around 1 pm and slept on it that first evening. It already seem fully opened and decompressed at that time. We were using a king sized memory foam mattress which gave me morning aching back pain. This mattress cured that pain the first night. This CMFOBAMTS queen mattress is a medium firm, it is not firm. For me it is perfect. We prefer a king size and after an extended 2 month trip I intend ordering this same brand in king size. This is a great value for an excellent mattress.

This twin mattress came rolled up and vacuum sealed but expanded to full size almost immediately as I cut the plastic open. For me (at about 200lb), it feels soft and comfortable if you lay on your back or front and doesn't feel bad on the side either, but when I'm on my side, if I put my had to the side of the mattress, i can feel the springs bulging a little and can start to feel the springs pushing against the mattress on the bottom when I move. I expect it will be fine for kids; my 53lb daughter can't wait for me to put it on her bed, but be advised that there is a weight limit somewhere between 53 and 200lb (probably closer to the high end of that), where it starts to be less comfortable for side sleepers.

Mattress reviews are a little difficult because many of the features are subject to personal preferences. With that said this is a Hybrid 10 inch mattress. 10 inches is on the thinner side so is better suited to lighter individuals. This being a hybrid means it uses coils and foam in the construction which plays into the weight of the sleeper on the comfort level as it being 10 inches. It is a quality mattress in materials as far as I can tell. The medium firm is in line with other medium firm mattress I have used so seems accurate. Overall if 10 inches is the thickness you are after this is a solid option!
