This will take some time to put together! A drill and correct bit makes the job faster! The steps can be mounted on either side but you'll have to use your brain. The instructions are mediocre.

The bed itself is great, I would say five stars for the bed. I think the quality it pretty good for the price, it's sturdy, and nice to look at. My boys love it! The removal of a star comes from building it. What. A. Pain. In. The. Tush! Took 2 people 5 hours and several strings of curse words. Highly suggest buying hex bits before assembling because the Allen wrench bites big ones. Also, really take your time and study the diagrams or you'll have to take apart one side of the bed because you didn't line up your holes correctly. Not saying that happened to me or anything, cough cough. The hardware can get kind of confusing too so a little extra attention is needed to sort those before you get started. ... show more

It came out great and looks to be good craftsmanship, HOWEVER…it took 3 of us 4 hours to put it together. Granted we were trying to also keep 2 toddlers entertained, but it was quite the task. And the beginning pieces were incorrectly labeled so it took 3 tries to of screwing things together to then have to unscrew because the next step wouldn’t work. For the bottom step I do wish the front “drawer” was a complete square because I can already imagine my kids throwing little things in the hole that will never be found. All in all, I love the bed. Update: at further inspection in the daylight. There are a few imperfections. The most noticeable are on the slide. ... show more

THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE NOT VERY CLEAR , AS LONG AS YOU LOOK AT THE HOLES TO MAKE SURE WHICH DIRECTION THEY GO WILL GO ALOT SMOOTHER , LIKE I MENTIONED THERE LACK OF DETAILS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS -- PLAN ON A FEW HOURS TO PUT TOGETHER AND YOU WILL NEED AND EXTRA HAND ON SOME PARTS. --- 2 PEOPLE WILL MAKE ALOT EASIER. ---- ONCE AGAIN PAY ATTENTION TO ALL SIDES WHEN PUTTING TOGETHER SO YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE BACK APART AND TURN AROUND..
