I bought this to keep my mattress off the floor. Said no box spring required. I use an 6" lucid memory foam mattress because I have a surgically repaired back. When sitting and laying on it I can feel the cross braces and felt like I need something more understand. Overall I like the size, sturdiness, storage room but def need something underneath the bed. i had this bed put together in 10 minutes and love how light and cheap it is. while it seems like it may be flimsy from the pictures, it is in fact quite strong and once you tighten down the bolts after putting in the slats, it is surprisingly sturdy.

Set up was a breeze, took 15 minutes, tops! Once assembled the frame is very sturdy. It does not wobble or squeak, when you move around. I did purchase the 18” high one, as this is in a spare bedroom, where we want to store some little used items. So that height is great for sliding boxes underneath. When we did place the 14” mattress on top the frame, it makes for a pretty high sleeping position. Fortunately for us, the primary user is our 6’3” son, when he comes home for a visit, several times a year. Would be difficult for a young child or short adult, to easily get onto the bed. I’d definitely buy this brand again, and it was nice that it came in a Twin XL, which makes it long enough for a tall person, and yet uses less overall space than the queen size mattress set, it replaced. ... show more
