Description

Turtle Beach VelocityOne Multi-Shift is a premium sim racing shifter & handbrake module, engineered for precise gear changes, quick handbrake pulls, and versatility with a wide range of vehicles. Sim racers can select between classic H-Gate stick shifting and rally-ready sequential shifting on-the-fly. Plus, once in sequential mode, press the Handbrake mode button and instantly transform Multi-Shift into a true-to-life analog handbrake module. Our contactless, hall-effect magnetic technology provides long-lasting durability and smooth operation whether you’re shifting through gears or using Multi- Shift as a handbrake. For farm or truck sim, or any vehicle with more than a seven-speed transmission, the High/Low range gear button allows you to map each of the seven forward gear positions to another gear, giving you up to fourteen forward gears with compatible titles. Inspired by high-end, performance-built cars, Multi-Shift uses premium materials from its steel shafts to a leather shift boot and automotive style shift knobs to deliver a high-end, immersive feel. Included in the kit are both short and long-throw shift shafts, as well as H-gate style and sequential style shift knobs. Plus, for those that want to customize their setup even more, Multi-Shift is compatible with aftermarket shift knobs using a universal M12x1.75 thread size. Take your sim racing setup on PC to another level of immersion with Multi-Shift, compatible with a broad range of sim racing hardware and software. Plus, with the included pass-through cable, you can connect Multi- Shift directly to VelocityOne Race for plug-and-play compatibility on Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One. Additionally, the VelocityOne Race RMD will also have dedicated feedback for the Multi-Shift module to check gear status and handbrake input. Seven-Speed Gearbox Plus ReverseAn intuitive H-gate pattern with seven forward gears plus reverse offers precise control, and immersive realism in every vehicle from supercars to semi-trucks. Pressing down on the handle enables access to the seventh gear or reverse and helps avoid mis- shifts.On-the-fly Sequential Mode SwitchEffortlessly transition on-the-fly from an H-gate shifter into a sequential shifter with the flip of a switch. Slide the switch on the side of the Multi-Shift module to Sequential mode and the stick now will only go back and forth, perfect for rapid up and down shifts in touring or rally cars.Handbrake ModeDrift smoothly into every corner or launch hard off the line with Handbrake mode, available at the press of a button once in Sequential Mode. Hall-effect technology ensures a true analog handbrake over a basic button control for enhanced realism and precise control.High & Low Range Gear ButtonExpand beyond seven forward gears of shift range with the High/Low button, mappable within compatible titles to allow you to access additional forward gear positions. Once properly mapped, you can shift through gears 1-7, and then press the High/Low button, and go back through the gate to access gears 8-14. An exclusive feature only found on Multi-Shift, this is especially useful in truck or farm simulator games, or any vehicle with more than seven forward gears.Hall-Effect Magnetic TechnologyHigh-quality, hall-effect, non-contact magnetic sensors provide smooth, reliable control and long-lasting durability.Versatile Mounting OptionsSecurely mount Multi-Shift to your desk with the integrated clamp, or you can permanently mount it into your sim rig with the supplied screws.Swappable Shift KnobsThe H-Gate shift knob with short-throw shaft provides fast, precise gear changes, or switch to the sequential knob and long-throw shaft for more comfortable up & down sequential shifts or fast handbrake pulls. For even more added realism and personalized comfort, Multi- Shift uses a universal M12x1.75 thread size so you can swap in your own automotive aftermarket shift knobs.Race-Ready DesignDrawing from the designs of real cars, Multi-Shift uses high-quality, premium materials to deliver a realistic, high-end feel with durable components for long-lasting performance.Expand your Setup Easily add a second multi-shift to your setup and configure one as either an H-gate or sequential shifter and use the second as a dedicated handbrake.PC & Xbox ConnectivityUniversal connectivity to PC ensures Multi-Shift is compatible with any sim racing hardware or software. Plus, with the included pass-through cable you can connect directly to VelocityOne Race for plug-and-play compatibility on Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One. Additionally, the VelocityOne Race RMD will also have dedicated feedback for the Multi-Shift module to check gear status and handbrake mode.

  • A great general purpose shifter
Style: Universal Shifter & Handbrake
My sim racing setup is an amalgamation of Fanatec wheelbase and wheel, Thrustmaster load cell pedals, and this shifter. I previously used the Thrustmaster TH8A, which is great if you're looking for an H-pattern and will exclusively use it for that. However, I wanted something that offers sequential shifting and the ability to transition from H-pattern to sequential with the flip of a switch, and the Multi-Shift allows for that. Using the H-pattern actually feels pretty close to a real car: When shifting into gear, there is a slight bit of resistance as you enter a gear, adding that little bit of immersion. It has 7 speeds plus reverse, and features an safety requiring you to push down if you want to enter either seventh or reverse. There is also a button for high/low gears, so it can be used for sim trucking as well. It also shifts right into gear without any delay. I had heard of issues on this shifter of there being a slight bit of lag on shifting, but this appears it was possibly a driver issue, and primarily an issue when directly plugged into Turtle Beach's wheelbase. When plugged directly into the computer, I had no such problems. Sequential shifting is accessed by simply flipping a switch on the right side. I don't have any other sequential shifters to compare it to other than the TH8A in sequential mode. It feels good; definitely not great and snappy, but it does the job. It also feels better than the TH8A's sequential and doesn't require you to remove 4 screws and rotate the unit just to access the mode, so it has that massive advantage. You can also use it as a handbrake, though I definitely feel you should have a dedicated unit for that rather than use this. Build-wise, it's predominately plastic, with the exception of the shaft and the optional included shift knob (and I imagine some of the internals). It's not an all/mostly metal affair like the TH8A, but the Multi-Shift is definitely not a lightweight, so there must be more metal inside. You do have an option of 3 different shaft lengths, depending on your shifter mode or preference. The plastic shifter knob definitely feels cheap, so I leave the metal knob on all the time. It's meant for the sequential shifter/handbrake, but I find it's just find for H-pattern. If you're new to sim racing and want a shifter that's a great H-pattern and good sequential shifter with an easy way to switch between the two, this is hard to beat for the price. If you're only looking for an H-pattern, there are certainly other, cheaper options and I would look there first before considering this, but I would still recommend you check this shifter. Judging by reviews of the other Turtle Beach sim racing products, this is their best effort. ... show more

  • Realistic Daily Driver Style Shifter :)
Style: Universal Shifter & Handbrake
The media could not be loaded. The shifter build quality is great and heavy duty feeling, but it kinda lugs into gears with a slight snap. It isn’t a smooth shift persay if anyone cares about that, I don't seem to notice it in races or normally driving around. The clamp is great and strong and I love how they hid it with the flip door, I didn’t have any issue with the software, it calibrated and updated fine. I used this on Pc and set up was pretty easy for Corsa and The Crew MotorFest and played nice with my Moza wheel. For it being more expensive than other shifters on the market, it’s the most realistic, I’d say, if you’re making your setup close to a daily road car driving type of setup the price isn't a bad bullet to bite. I’m quite happy with it. You get the look of the Logitech shifter with the function of a Thrustmaster TM8 while having a better build quality and, to some, a better look. Here is some photos of my setup below :) ... show more

  • New units perfect, old ones flawed, check your firmware version - 1.11 shipped is a new unit.
Style: Universal Shifter & Handbrake
REVIEW OF THE REPLACEMENT ITEM: I am absolutely convinced that there are multiple revs of this shifter being sold and but that the marketing was not updated. The original unit I got felt great, and came with a version of firmware that was lower than 1.11 (I forgot the number, it may have been 1.09), that unit started having connectivity issues after a couple of weeks, where it would forget what it was, and even the handbrake button would stop responding. There was nothing else wrong with that unit besides the connection problems, but unfortunately, we can't have that in sim racing. Now the replacement that I got, it looks exactly the same, everything about it is exactly the same except that it was already loaded with firmware 1.11, and the feeling of the shifting, especially in sequential mode, feels so much better than the original one. It is hard to explain, the original one felt like a roller bearing riding over something that has a spring behind it, it felt great, but you could tell you were feeling a roller and spring in that system. This new one, they have clearly changed something, it feels like an actual sequential shift, it actually feels smoother than my VW GTI, so whatever they did, it is very very good. I hope this new one holds up. So, what did I learn? If you buy one of these, and you get a unit that is shipped with 1.09, and not 1.11, consider returning it. I am very glad I did. 4 stars because what I have now is a perfect product, but why did I have to get a bad one first? That was clearly a different internal build? That sucks, turtle beach should be more transparent about this kind of thing, the unit is definitely different, maybe someone with time and money to waste can do a comparison teardown? REVIEW OF ORIGINAL ITEM: I like the shifter a lot. It feels great and looks great. I originally gave 5 stars and a great review. Two weeks later, the shifter has these strange disconnects. It doesn't actually disconnect from the PC, it just seems to stop understanding what it is. A power cycle fixes this issue every time. The weird part is that the handbrake button doesn't work either in this state so I think it is an internal failure of some kind that required reboot. Anyway, returning it and getting another, hopefully it is just a bad QC item - if the other has the same issue I will update and go with something else... ... show more
