  • Underwhelming until you download the app
I’ll start by saying I’ve owned 3 of the turtle beach pro headsets now and I can say the pro elite 2 are definitely the best in quality and now customization. My biggest complaint about the first elite pros was the top was plastic and easily snapped, which they’ve replaced with stainless steal in this new one. At first, they are underwhelming and quiet just as the original pro elites were; however, once you download the app you can customize the game audio/volume and Bluetooth sync your phone. This allows you to seamlessly stream videos or audio from your phone while you grind hours away. Definitely a huge upgrade, the app also allows you to enable the “super hearing” mode that basically makes you a siege pro. Lastly, I love how you can customize the lights on the amp, I have mine set to show the audio levels and my turtle beach icon is purple just wish the Xbox version came in black. ... show more

  • Nice, play around with the setup though
So overall these puppies are comfortable AF! The sound can be great, and I say can be for good reason; the included amp (which works well) doesn't provide you with the level of volume that I'm looking for at times, and the steps needed to enable certain features is a pain in the ass having to open my phone up to access the way changes are made. These changes are simply not heat of the moment changes compatible. Another thing is that I feel that the surround does better with Dolby Atmos on and not Windows Sonic, which is the setting they state this is built for though they mention that its compatible with Atmos. Pluggin into the controller directly gives an overall louder sound, not bass, nor do you get the ability to toggle the mic settings as much this way or choose different EQ settings but it's worth a try if you're looking for overall noise to be at its loudest except if the superamp was in superhuman hearing mode which isn't a suggestable constant. I personally use the provided amp with my PC, while playing xbox I actually use the turtle beach earforce tactical amp plugged directly into the controller. It has the same 4 hearing modes and gives 3 chat mode for the mics input noise range (No monitoring adjustment sadly), and the best part is being able to use the superhuman hearing on the fly with a quite tap of the button on the amp to engage the feature. The noise level also is louder as well and works better with both surround headphone options on xbox. The earcups are awesome with the included cooling gel which works i just wish that they were colder when first put on, the material doesnt get as cold as a leatherette one does but it does stay cooler by far then the alternative over time. Construction quality over the first gen is a huge upgrade, the first gen felt like you had to use them so delicately which you did but these are strong and it shows. Now, are they worth the $250 MSRP, I say no, no headset is to me, but having gotten them on sale for $179, I'm totally on board with that. Just too many options out there that can be just as satisfying for less than the 250 or even 200 price tag. Love the cooling gel so much in the earcups though, I've looked up replacement earcups for my razer tiamut v2 and Plantronics rig 800 to no avail. Also, easily the best mic on a headset I've used if you get the settings correct. Hope this is helpful to some. ... show more

  • Premium Look, Mediocre Functionality
I purchased this headset as a replacement to the XO Seven by Turtlebeach. I was sadly disappointed when I discovered the problems surrounding controlling the SuperAmp settings. The only way to control the device is via Turtlebeach's Audio Hub for either Android or iOS, which uses a Bluetooth connection to the SuperAmp. The app constantly loses connectivity to the SuperAmp, even after installing the latest SuperAmp firmware from Turtlebeach's support site. The headset itself screams "premium," but other than aesthetics and the ear cups being comfortable, there's not much premium. The Audio Hub app has no settings to adjust how sensitive the mic is, and sound leakage from the headset is detected and echoed by the mic in party comms. The mic is far from noise-canceling. This forces the user to turn volume down to such a low level that any benefit to enhanced gaming audio is diminished significantly. And this is despite the headset being a closed-back design. I stuck with TurtleBeach as a preferred brand versus Astro, but I can't recommend them anymore. Buyer beware! I replaced these with Sennheiser GSP600s, and am loving it. ... show more

  • Excellent Headset and Amp
I really have two reviews to write, one on the headset and one on the company that I bought it from. I would like to start on the company that I bought it from. I am impressed with Goldstar Tech Store... this is the first time that I have bought a used item from a vendor on Amazon and I am truly impressed. The container it came in was in very good shape, better shape than I expected. The listing said the box would be damaged and it was hardly damaged at all. The headset and amp came with all cables packaged correctly. I will buy from Goldstar Tech Store in the future. I have bought several Turtle Beach Headsets and in each case they have broke... typically on the left ear piece the plastic just stress fractured. In the case of the Elite Pro 2 it fits well and is very comfortable. The ear cushions come off for easy cleaning and are held in place with magnets. In my opinion the sound quality is excellent whether it's Joe Bonamassa or SWTOR. The only thing I have not been able to get working is the Game/Chat mix on the Amp but that is a minor issue that does not detract from my overall satisfaction. I recommend the Elite Pro 2 and Amp and I recommend purchasing from GoldStar Tech Store. ... show more

  • Mix Amp is a sham. Costumer support is awful. Buy the atlas not this
So I was very excited for this product as the poor reviews I saw generally were based on not properly updating the firmware with your PC before using it on console or PC. The fit was super comfortable but I have a small head. After setting it up, I tried playing with my friends. Once I joined the party, they could hear every single thing they said, and every single shot I fired in call of duty.... and I’m talking about the noise from the headset, I don’t play anything through my Monitor speakers cause, noise canceling mic? I messed with everything, trying to figure out if the noise gate option in the app was ever gonna even attempt to work, nope. After about 5 days of dealing with this, very frustrating playing on 50% of the sound u want. After trying to fix it, my Turtle beach hub on my PC kept giving me the same error code and would shut down emidiately when it loaded. After working with Turtle Beaches sorry excuse for costumer support. Only open like 9-5 weekdays, and no live support. If you have a job like most people on planet earth, it doesn’t work. It took 3 days, 2 support tickets, and 3 emails before I got an actual response from a person, before that it was just generic links to trouble shooting on their website. Which I had obviously already done plus some, which I let them know in the ticket and emails, but that didn’t matter. Once I got an actual response (3 days later) their only advice was try downloading the Audio Hub on a different Pc, I did this and got the same error code, forcing the shutdown of the audio hub. At this point, I’ve just come to accept that that Bluetooth mix amp was a rushed and incomplete product, released with an incomplete software. The headset is great sounds great, but the mix amp is pointless. I’ve loved turtle beach, but if you are gonna buy a product, either go with the original Elite Pro and Tac Audio controller, same sound quality and drivers and will actually work, or go with the Atlas, 150 dollars less for the same headset without the one thing that ruins this product. I returned and am probably going with steel series. Only positive is Amazons great return policy so I didn’t have to do anything more with Turtle Beach. May have lost my business forever. ... show more

  • Iffy product, has a few issues
Good headset but also has alot of issues. One of the issues is, the super amp has a finicky bluetooth system. Sometimes I'll connect my phone so I can play music, and it's a great feature, when it works. Half the time, it will connect and put my music at max volume and deafen me, and it wont let me lower it unless I disconnect the power and plug it back in. The other problem is I can only have the volume about 60% or it bleeds through the mic and creates an echo. The headset is comfortable and high quality build, but kinda disappointed in those 2 problem for such an expensive headset from a big brand like turtle beach. ... show more

  • These Replaced my Astro A50 Gen 3
I've used these headphones for three days, so these still have to hold up to the test of time. That being said, so far I like: 1.) The USB -> Amp -> Headphone Setup. While I appreciate the total wireless freedom of the A50's, not dealing with auto shut offs, batteries, and sound disruptions was my main reason for purchase. Happy with the results, will see how wired holds up the first time I jerk the amp off the coffee table. 2.) Windows Sonic. I have not paid for Dolby Atmos, and at this point I do not feel the urge to. I thought the sound was better and more immersive than the sound I was getting from the Dolby 7.1 setting I used on the A50's. 3.) Xbox Hardware Recognition. Small thing, but it is so nice not to have to walk back up and uplug the USB to reset the base station so that I'm recognized in party chat. When Xbox is on, I'm good to go. 4.) Game Chat. Welcome back! I'm almost always using Xbox Party Chat but when I'm playing Destiny it's nice to have the option to opt into Fireteam Chat. 5.) Bluetooth. Paired up easily with my phone. Some things I felt could use improvement: -1.) Turtle Beach Audio Hub App.: Using my Android Phone, sometimes the buttons felt unresponsive. I just got these things and wanted to play with settings a bunch. It works, but I felt the experience could have been better. -2.) Glass Relief System: Not a real negative, I just don't see the upside. Sound isolation does not seem to be greatly effected wherever my cushion tab is set, but the same can be said for pressure relief on the frame of my glasses. My glasses fit fairly snug to my face, and my headset/glass fit puts the relief design just a little high. I use it and have the tabs pegged on the last setting, but not a big deal for me and has never been a previous issue. If it is an issue for you on your current set up... your results might vary. -3.) Comfort. I find these comfortable! However, for the extended play time I put in yesterday... I did not find them as comfortable as my Astro A50 Gen 3 with the fabric cushions. -4.) Mute Control. Comming from a wireless set up where I just flipped my mic boon up, fiddling to find the dongle is a minor hassle. I'd like to see something integrated into the amp. (Which besides bluetooth, feels just like a big volume knob/cable break with glowy bits) Conclusion Notes: This is my first experience with Turtle Beach, and I am satified with the purchase. For me the sound isolation balance is what I was looking for. I felt more immersed in my game. I did not have a issue with the overall volume level which is a topic I've seen brought up before. Durability, more experience using chat, and playing more with the settings is where my comments may fall short for my personal experience. ... show more

  • Perfect in every way.
Beat headset I've ever owned in my life. I bought my girlfriend one first I have the first series when the elite pro came out first and loved ever minute of those. She got these and I tried them on and immediately fell in love with them. Shortly after seeing her have these I stopped at best buy and bought myself some. Let's start with the best part of these. The price, omg I cant tell you how great these are for the price compared to the last gen. Last ones cost me almost 400 these for 150 hell yea. Secondly let's talk comforts. I am a glasses user and at first they wer very hard to get used to. But once the headset streached to my head they are perfect. Third the mixamp is awesome. It's on the phone side of things which is how I like it it's less confusing then having all those sliders and not knowing wtf to do. The led is pretty cool to. Also only having 2 cords is bomb asf. Give these 5 stars becuase they deserve them. I've gotten 2 pairs now one for xbox and one for PC do not regret my choice. ... show more
