Size is small but fine for an apartment. If you want a larger size, you'll pay over $100. Easy to use. I like the fire colors, which you can adjust if you like. Only thing I do not like is that once it warms up, the thermostat does not turn itself off, so I manually have to turn down the temp. Thus I removed a star. I have a large bedroom and it heats the entire hedroom, and into the hallway - makes my 'central' heat not run much or at all when I use it. Solid build. Good quality materials. There is no remote for the item I chose. Some DO have remotes. You assemble the legs on the main body of the heater. Easy assembly, altho I still need to take a screwdriver to fully drive screws on. Thus heater is off the floor. My cats stay away from it, altho they like watching the fake flames. I have no concerns with safety with this particular device (altho I would not leave it on if I was gone for any length of time). Definitely would recommend this product, and the brand whuch has various options to choose from.

Powerful little heater - A trick to make the fire more realistic

I have a balcony where it is always cold and windy, but we’re not allowed to have a fire out there. I wanted to have the ambiance of a fire and I wanted adjustable heat. I bought this little heater based on reviews that it has great heat output for the size while being quiet and I totally agree. It’s nice and warm when I’m right in front of it, but there is also great heat spread indoors and it warms up a small room nicely. I did not notice an off-putting smell or sound. The thing is, I almost returned it as soon as I received it. The fake fire was a little cheesy. I am no stranger to fake fires and have owned other faux fireplaces and would say out of the box this one wasn’t that realistic. There were just too many big flashes of red in it. In my opinion real fireplaces usually put out orangish light with just a few licks of red in the flames with the red mostly confined to the embers at the base of the fire. Simple fix was I unscrewed the bottom panel (before screwing the legs on) and simply partially covered the 2 red bulbs with black electrical tape (high heat resistant, fire retardant) and left the 3 orange bulbs alone. I didn’t cover the entire red bulb, just the top in order to allow heat to dissipate and some red to show through. They are LED lights anyway they shouldn’t get very hot to begin with. This made the fire look SO much more realistic. Before screwing the bottom panel back on, I recommend turning only the light switch on just to check that you like the effect first bcs it’s a lot of screws to take in and out. If you are thinking of altering it this way then obviously you can’t change your mind later and return it. I’m very happy with this purchase and glad I didn’t send it back. It really packs a punch for its size, super easy to move anywhere the only downside is no remote, but for such a small heater I didn’t expect one anyway.

I especially love how it blows the heat across the floor because everyone knows heat rises and cold is down low so it is perfect. Suits Our Needs in a Pinch

In October, the furnace died. Happily, the weather here was still pretty mild, so instead of paying for a hurry-up emergency installation, we decided to make do with other heat sources while we checked out our options. A few years ago I bought a slightly larger version of this fireplace, and it is very popular, situated in our large living room that for some reason is never as warm as the rest of the house. The only room that didn't have a fireplace or space heater was the kitchen/dining area, so I invested in this nifty little heater. Other reviewers have pointed out that it's a little flimsy, lightweight. We have hit the stage of life where we don't like to pick up heavy things, so this is actually kind of a bonus for us. We're not looking for elegance, for heaven's sake. We do not have formal decor, don't have to impress anybody. But I love that I can move this fireplace around if I need to without getting hurt. The control panel is on the side, inconspicuous and not tempting to children. Is it small? Yes, it kind of is. I will attach a picture or two so that you can see. If you have a large area to heat, go with the next size up, but we were plenty toasty with this one in the kitchen area and the larger one out in the living room. I would buy it again. Of course, if it stops working too early, I'll be back and change my rating and review, but based on how well the larger one has stood up and the light use to which this one will be put, it seems mighty unlikely.

Cute, effective and sturdy.

4.5 stars This arrived today and I immediately had to set it up. It was packaged well. The legs have to be screwed on. It has a sturdy three prong plug. Likes: The door opens and has a cute handle. The finish is AMAAAAAZING! The top, sides and back stay cool. It puts out heat! Our furnace has been struggling with some cold temps but this little guy has our 12x16 ft living room super toasty. The flame looks pretty dang realistic from a few feet away. The color is spot on. Thermostat control allows you to “set a temperature” basically meaning it won’t just stay on forever. Dislikes: The heater doesn’t stay on continuously (both a pro and con really) — meaning if you’re sitting in front of it you’ll be toasty one second and cool the next. The fan for the heat only has one setting— meaning you’ll be hot as you know what and then cold when it turns off. Only if you sit right in front of it. Otherwise the fan output is great because it pushes the heat out. Doesn’t matter to me but the “fireplace” can be on without the heat but not the other way around. Also there was no remote control. Crackling sound is sort of goofy but if you close your eyes and imagine a cold breeze and the smell of fire it’s convincing enough ;) Overall I feel like this was a good purchase for us.

It’s tiny but mighty
Although dimensions are posted, it’s a lot smaller than I imagined, but true to the measurements. It is truly adorable! Nice and compact, so I can leave it in the room for the summer. It won’t get in the way. Although that attic visiting family guest room has baseboard heaters (turned off when no one is visiting), I am enjoying the lil fireplace heater for instant coziness when I come upstairs to do something. The style and color make a quaint decor. I am very happy I bought it. I hope it lasts. I must add, be sure you want either or all: WiFi capability, remote, cool to the touch. I prefer this simple model, no remote, no WiFi capability

Don’t bother
So I’ve always wanted a fireplace, i love the warm and coziness of the view of a fireplace in fall and winter. But I’ve never had the pleasure of having one. So i was excited to see this! It was the perfect size and color to fit right in front of my console. The first day it arrived it was absolutely beautiful. Though it was still quite warm even in Illinois at that time, when I came home from work I would turn on the flame and sound for the vibe and leave the heat off. I didn’t use it everyday, just a few days each week in the evening. But before long I started noticing it wasn’t as brightly lit as it was the first day i turned it on. Then before long the flame feature was completely gone. Hasn’t even taken a month off light to medium usage. So i contacted the seller (I believe in contacting the seller before leaving bad reviews), showed them these exact photos, and they offered a 30% refund. I refused it because without the flame feature. This is just a regular space heater. And a 30% refund isn’t even enough to buy regular space heater. I chucked the $180+ out because i specifically wanted the flame feature. I already have plenty of space heaters at home. So they offered to send me a new heater with the working flame. I accepted hoping that the initial one that i got was just a fluke. They delivered it, but i wasn’t able to really use it to test it out again because I traveled for 5 weeks. Came back in the middle of winter and turned it on. It’s been about 3 weeks again of light usage, and yet again. The flame feature is practically gone. A huge waste of money. It literally last like 2 weeks of light use. By week 3 you start seeing the dimming, and by week 4, there is no flame. Right when the return window closes. Save your money, or take your chances, up to you to decide. Now I’ve got to figure out where to dump this disappointment.

I bought three of these as I do not have central heat and air. They are a bit smaller than I had anticipated even though I took measurements. My fault. That said, three of these kept my 966 sq ft home toasty. Two are still running strong. One started developing problems right at 2 years old. The switch wouldn't work and then the heat went out. They weren't crazy expensive but I was hoping for longer than two years! I did like the night light affect it gave us in the summers without the heat - that was a nice feature. The material is sturdy. It's an attractive piece. I'm thinking of taking the broken one apart and making a small bookshelf out of it.....I didn't like the fact that I couldn't set the temp. This meant I had to adjust it manually if it was too hot or cold.... Hope this helps!
