Finally I can work in my garage on hot days! I need to do some DIY works in my garages and it doesn’t have an HVAC system. Usually I just let the garage door open and use several fans. But it was a little hotter than expected last week so I needed some additional cooling so I wouldn't be in a puddle of sweat. I want a portable ac because it can be moved to a general area of need. So I chose this at a reasonable price. The product arrived quickly and was easy to remove from the packaging. Compact and won’t take too much space. It came with all of the necessary elements to vent the heat out. I made some minor adaptations to the garage door and it worked perfectly. I tried Cooling mode and it didn’t come out with cool air at first. Just when I thought it was damaged, I heard a noise of hum and I knew it was at that moment the compressor starting to work. Then the cool air came. Very strong and cool air actually. After the compressing was running normally, I used an infrared thermometer to test the temperature of the air vent and it was 43℉. As I chose the turbo function (the button next to the ON/OFF on the remote), it was loud because the fan was running on the highest level. I used my phone to test the sound level and it was 56.7dB. Not quiet but acceptable. One more thing to notice is that you need to fasten the drain cap tightly, otherwise there will be a leakage after running for two hours. I will keep trying and updating if there is anything wrong with this machine. So far so good.

Update 2; received a replacement unit and this one is working fine. I suspect the original unit was damaged during shipping. The new unit is quieter than the original and the noise level now is ok; louder than a fan of course but it's not so loud you can't sleep with it on. Overall works fine now. When buying one of these I would suggest you make sure to test it out right away and run it a few times to make sure it wasn't damaged during shipping. Update: after speaking with the seller the offered to send a replacement. Will update this after I receive the new unit Absolute piece of junk junk. Only actually ran for somewhere around 12-15 hours,. The cooling output was alright, but the noise level was absurd. And then things got bad. At this point it started making an extremely loud whistling sound - picture the most annoying teapot imaginable. This was multiple times louder than than just the standard running noise, which was too loud to begin with. Even after turning it off the whistling continued for another 30 to 45 minutes and could be heard two rooms away. After that the compressor stopped working, which mean no more cooling. So now it's a $300 fan, and not even a good one at that. Don't waste your time or money on this.

Just installed it about few weeks ago and it was working perfectly as it described and better than I expected. This is a my first time use potable AC and My whole life have been changed. I used to have a window unit AC that was nightmare for installation. Anyway this portable AC only need to install the exhaust tube which is very easy and you don’t need duct tape. It fits very well. But you need some muscle to make the connection fit. I place this portable air conditioner in my master room which is about 600 square foot. However this AC had no problem keeping up with my demand. Although it says up to 400 sq ft. Cool down the entire room only took about half hour or less. I think this would have more power to cool a smaller room fast. This AC will temporarily turn off the unit on your setting temperature to keep the air conditioner working efficiently so I really like the automatic function that it is totally energy saver also don’t disturb me when I sleep. Noise level I will say 4/5.

This is the absolute worst AC, do not buy. Creates a lot of water, you cannot leave this unit to run on its own unless you want spillage. The hose that connects to the rear of the unit does not stay attached, I have this thing rigged up with electrical tape at BOTH ends right now. It does not cool down the space I have it in, I have to have it blowing on me at all times to stay cool. This unit is loud, for a small room it it is very loud. Aside from the noise and constantly coming apart from the heat exhaust tube this unit is absolutely awful.

This thing blows some cold air, looks better than other models I've seen and has wheels to move it wherever. We have it in the 3rd floor room in our 75-year-old leaky townhouse for a 250 sqft room. It reduced the temperature by 20 degrees in a few hours if that(hot and humid Northern VA). We cut the drain hose so that it would stop at floor level and have a bucket that fills up about halfway every day. The machine will shut off if it cannot drain but there is another plug on the very bottom of the back that you can pop out and drain more water. This was one of the only units that could be used for a vertical or horizontal sliding window (ours slides horizontally, much harder to find ). Overall its well worth the investment for a cold/dehumidified guest room and only 20 bucks more for 25% increase capacity vs the 8000 BTU.

The media could not be loaded. Cools well. But just much louder than expected. The spec sheet says 52 db but that clearly is incorrect in practice. Measured 59 db on low and then 61 db on high. I try to not have it on continuously when I am not in my office because of the noise. See video.
