Every mug press I've ever used has had a nasty smell. This one is no different. Use outside or open a window & use a fan. The instructions are gibberish. Looks beautiful and does get the job eventually done but hard to close and the instructions are terrible and even with 20 oz cups itโ€™s so hard to close. One of the ports had what looked like dried gel or hot glue all over it and smoked at first until I cleaned it off. It sublimates very well, the only thing I have to say is the tighter you make it the harder it is to unlatch. I literally burned a mug due to difficulty in ulatching. So if you have arthritis this is not the press for you. Like I said, aside from that it sublimates very well.

This works well for sublimating skinny tumblers and other drink tumblers. Iโ€™ve had very good results.

    • Amazing for tumblers. Not so much mugs

I made a few tumblers with this and they were great. The instructions are wonky, and the smell with each use is a bit much. When pressing a 15oz mug, you have to hold the machine to keep it from opening, because it will not latch. I had uneven pressure throughout and could not get my mugs to come out like my tumblers did. Overall, Iโ€™m somewhat satisfied with this product. Also, 350ยฐF for 50 sec, rotate halfway for another 50 sec seems to be really good for tumblers with this machine. The colors can easily burn. I would return it, but donโ€™t want to go through the process. ... show more

The 'Testing' part was VERY confusing ๐Ÿ˜•, so I just jumped in by passed 'Testing' got the Temperature, Timer, set up myself...a bit of a Smell to it, but so far, it seems to work fine...only been using it for the last week...

Love my press. Was using a toaster oven I converted to start sublimation. The press is quick and easy to use. The count down is kinda wonky (I have to set my phone to make sure of the time). The first use smell is super strong (fyi) you may see some smoke once you open the press after a use but I think that might have been from the tightness.
