A sharp, affordable, and light lens. If you can live without weather sealing or shoot out of the elements, this is an easy call to add to your lens bag. The only drawback of the lens is the lack of a lock on the aperture dial, which I accidentally flipped on a few occasions from auto to f16.

It's not an amazing lens, and for the price, you wouldn't expect it to be. It's really decent for what you are paying though. The f2 aperture lets in a decent amount of light and 75mm is a good portrait length.

I had the same circular defects with the lens mounted on my Leica SL2. I tried updating the firmware but it still didn’t get rid of the weird circles on my image. Even though I could take any real photos with the lens due to the connection issue, it did seem like the autofocus was nice. I wish it would’ve worked.

Great inexpensive lens, sharp around f2.8 but at f2 it works great for portraits. You get a very shallow depth of field and the skin looks nice. I have used this on a photoshoot doing headshots and the client loved the photos. The focal length is great around waist up so perfect for actor headshots.

Excellent for the price. Let's face it, a 72mm autofocus f2 lens at this price is a steal. And considering the price range, where small tradeoffs have to be made, it is an excellent choice. I have an Alpha series camera, so couldn't test edge sharpness on this, but it worked fine and seems decently sharp, with a pleasing bokeh. Autofocus is adequately fast, if not a speed champion, and the pictures that result from using it are just as I would expect them to be. Putting it on the camera wasn't quite as silky smooth as I would expect from an OEM lens, but it wasn't difficult either. All in all a good compromise lens.

This is a great option for those looking for a budget portrait lens. It performs well and will give you some nice dreamy bokeh for a fraction of the cost of other lenses. Auto focus does a decent job, but it is not lightning fast like a G Series lens would be.
