  • A bargain at this price point
Size: X mount
Absolutely love this lens! I use it with a fuji XT-2 (I know, very budget lol) and the quality is better than expected. I am still getting used to shooting with such a long focal length. My only gripes are the weight and the how hard the focus ring is. The photos i uploaded are JPGs straight out of camera with minor subject exposure adjustments. I am very happy with the results. These were shot at around f8 or f11 during the day. The moon shot has no edits and was shot at around f11. The little bird shot was at f6.3. It came out a little soft and a tiny bit out of focus, but i wanted to see how blurred the background would be. I find this lens is sharp enough for my tastes, especially at this price point. If you can look past the manual focus and weight aspects of this lens, im sure you’re going to be happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Fantastic lens!
Size: Canon EF mount
Fantastic sharp images! Even at fully open aperture! Better than I expected for the price, honestly. My only complaint is it doesn't have data connectors so the camera needs to be in "no lens" mode to shoot with it, and there isn't stabilization, but at this focal length, that's a luxury. Besides that? Works perfectly. Better than the price would have you believe. ... show more

  • Not Quite Right
Size: EOS-RF mount
The RF connection is loose on the Canon EOS R. It's a close fit but not quite right. Beyond that, it's got some issues... The focus ring is extremely slow and takes a keen eye to get a sharp image. The slightest touch can blurr your image. But in a pinch this lens will do the job if this is the price point you can afford. Disclaimer: this is a manual only lens, there is no autofocus. In fact your camera won't even recognize that there's a lens on. You'll have to go into the menu, click the camera icon, and turn "on" shutter with no lens ... show more

  • Sharp enough and very hard to focus, with $3500 for fujifilm gfx500 lens it’s fill a spot.
Size: GFX mount
Very hard to focus unlike any other lens and forget moving subjects. Looks skinny on fujifilm gfx 50sii or like you spent $300 on a telephoto lens for a several thousand dollar camera body😂. That all aside it takes good sharp pictures handheld at f6.3 with in body image stabilization and shutter at 400. ... show more

  • Outstanding value!
Size: EOS-RF mount
The TTArtisan 500mm F/6.3 Supertelephoto Lens Manual Focus Full Frame Lenses (EOS-RF Mount) is a surprising value. It is a prime focus telephoto with manual focus and aperture rings mounted on the barrel. The rings are rather stiff to turn, which is OK for still photography, but may be cumbersome for moving subjects if rapid refocus is needed. Its tripod foot has two 1/4-20 threaded holes to allow balancing different weight cameras. My Canon EOS R6-Mk II mounted perfectly on the back of the lens and balanced with the forward hole on my tripod. The lens is very sharp when stopped down to f11. I thought it was a little soft at f6.3. I have not noticed any chromatic problems. My moonshots are black and white with fine detail and no rainbows, although the subject is centered, so any edge problems don't show. When you consider 500 mm lenses sell for 10x what this costs it is a real value, if you are willing to give up all the luxuries of a Canon RF zoom lens. ... show more

  • Good and sharp
Size: GFX mount
My only mistake is I did not notice the minimum distance is not very close (3,3 meters) I plan to photograph puffins with this lens this summer and I’m often able to be very close to them.

  • Good value lens for astrophotography, but bad QC
Size: X mount
Great value. I use this on a Fuji X-T4 and the reach it gets for the moon is amazing. The lens gets sharp around f/8 or 11, but wide open it is a little soft. The focus ring is very stiff but that is a feature because the focus is razor thin and tiny tweaks go a long way. The lens had some dust within the elements but it doesn't seem to affect the image quality yet. I would expect a perfectly clean lens when buying brand new but I guess TTArtisan's QC isn't great, or I got a lens someone used a ton. Chromatic aberration is handled very well and even shots of the moon, which is a shot that is notorious for causing CA, has minimal CA. It is easily fixed if needed. I don't expect doing wildlife with this lens, or at least nothing that requires lots of focus racking. The focus ring is just too stiff and the DoF is just too thin. The photo attached here is a stacked and composited photo of the moon, fully processed. So, what you can expect when I do my normal workflow. The second one (daytime) is an export of a single frame, uncropped, with minimal processing. ... show more
