If you want the best for your beginner musician, this is it! 7C is the perfect size for someone who's still learning how to produce a good sound. The deep cup is much more forgiving than a more shallow cup such as a 14A4 which they may want a few years down the road. This should get them through middle school. Same old Bach quality.
