  • Tried & true mpc!
Size Name: 17.00mm Cup Dia.
The Bach trumpet mouthpieces have been the standard for many years (75 or so). I grew up playing a Bach 7C and later, when I was a sophomore in high school, I moved to the Bach 3C — a bigger inner diameter. (I still find that the 7C is a fine mpc, by the way. And, there are many variables to consider when choosing any Bach mpc.) I played the 3C for years. I used it when I was in college in the jazz band and when I played in the pit for musical (but not operas), and for any commercial work that came my way. By then, I had moved to a Bach 1C for orchestra and brass ensemble work. The switch back-n-forth was never a problem. But, after that, though I kept to the 1C for "classical" jobs, I switched to a Bob Reeves mpc for commericial work. I play Monette mouthpieces these days, though. (I really like them.) But, for the 3 or 4 calls I get per year to play on a C or D tpt, I found thru experiment that a Bach 1.5C is close to the Monette I play, rim wise. Plus, at $55 or so bucks, the Bach cost about one-sixth what I'd have paid for a Monette C mpc. With the savings. Bottom line: you can't go wrong with a Bach mouthpiece. It's sort of a Cadillac (or Ford Continental), while a Monette is a Lamborghini. ... show more

  • it works better than stock mouthpiece
Size Name: 0
I don't know much about trumpets, it's for my kid, so writing this based off what I hear. kids band teacher recommended a bigger size than the stock mouthpiece. kid used this and his notes are much more crisp and could hit higher notes. he loves it.

  • I based my decision on this products reviews ! Perfect
Size Name: 0
This has been a blessing for my beginner in trumpet! It has made a huge difference .this piece sounded more clearer and more sharp then his other mouth piece. I do believe the other size was a 7 and I think band teacher said it was not the right size for my son ! She recommended this size and she was right ! He feels More comfortable and more confident playing ! ... show more

  • Review of Bach 5C mouthpiece
Size Name: 0
The mouthpiece meets my needs as far as playing it goes. It provides the sharpness of town, and allows me to play in the higher register. It also focuses to town very well.

  • Next size to move up to after 7C
Size Name: 0
5C size is good switch to after 7C by maybe 7th or 8th grade or high school as kids get older, but it is personal preference and depends on size. Highly recommended by my son's private teacher who is also a professional trumpet player. My son's sound has improved over the 7C which is smaller. Wish I had gotten it sooner ... show more

  • Defective Mouthpiece
Size Name: 17.00mm Cup Dia.
As a beginner, I didn't know the mouthpiece I received was defective. Different from my default 7c and 3c, I thought it felt loose and wobbly, but I didn't know. Now that I know a little more about trumpets and mouthpieces, I realized either the taper is wrong or shank is not cut right and is defective. It moves around in the receiver when I lightly shake it. No other mouthpiece that I have does that. For that, I am giving this one star. ... show more

  • Defective Shank.
Size Name: 17.00mm Cup Dia.
Favorite of mine. Product defective. I’ve owned several 1 1/2Cs and the shank has been fine on both my Yamaha and Bach trumpets. Recently bought one (May 2018) and the shank is too long. Hits the end of the receiver on my yamaha and causes much clinking and wobbling while playing. Loose hold on my Bach and wobbles a little when playing. As a daily playing trumpeter it affects my playing as it distracts from the other things I need to hear and improve. ... show more
