It was a very reasonably priced doggy door and I love that it has a metal 'shut' panel that has a snap push button type of lock. The swing flap doesn't fit as snug as I want but for the price it does a good enough job. I just remember to put the metal 'shut' panel in before dark to keep any mice or critters that travel in the dark looking for easy ways to push into the house. During the day those critters aren't around because they don't like the light, so this door is good enough for my purposes. I have 3 smaller dogs and the small doggy door worked great for them. The smaller door is too small for humans to get through even if they could punch out the metal 'shut' panel. This is an easy doggy door to instal. It has an insert for thick doors or walls. I didn't need the thick insert for my doors though. It comes with all the accessories you might need to install it in your door or wall. All you need is saw and screwdriver. This smaller door was replacing a larger opening doggy door. My son had to make a plate around it to accommodate the smaller door. I didn't want another big doggy door because those are big enough to allow a burglar in. This doggy door won't allow that. The small doggy door is good enough for a medium to very small dog or cat. Picture of the beagle in their ad shows how this smaller door accommodates about that size of dog or smaller. This door is well worth the money it cost.     • seal didn't stick and "lock" is a strong word. Easy to setup and works great otherwise.

The felt/brush weather seal didn't last a month before the glue came undone, and the "lock" is a small bolt, springloaded through a small hole. A 10-year-old could open this with a screwdriver. So don't rely on this for home security in any form. But as a garage door window, it's been excellent for the price point and my idiot pup figured it out right away. As of now it’s a great door. Had to add some wood to properly stabilize it but this is a patio screen door which is not that thick. The plastic flapper doesn’t always close completely but that was to be expected. All n all very satisfied with this product as of now.

After installing this our dogs were thrilled with being able to go to the backyard when they feel like it. It's not the most weathertight door but we knew that with it being a single flap design vs the more expensive multi-flap versions. A HUGE plus is that the company, Trixie, stands behind its product warranty. We've had it installed for a little over two years and the flap developed a tear where it attaches to the housing, I emailed them our invoice and a pic of the tear, and the next day they sent a tracking number for a replacement flap. Dog door installed in metal security door. It was easy to cut out with grinder and cutting blade. Measure the piece that connects the outside and inside piece for accuracy. Had to use tall can to hold open until dog figured out to use it. The food on each side didn't really work
