So far I've used this incubator to hatch bantam chickens and coturnix quail. 7/7 bantam chicks hatched without issue, no problems. 12/12 quail chicks hatched BUT I ended up doing an assisted hatch for 2 because the eggs rolled and got stuck on the lip. The angle they got stuck at prevented them from rotating, so they basically punched a big hole where they pipped and dried out the membrane (they're supposed to go horizontally while punching holes in the shell then push up hard to tear the membrane once they go all the way around). Next time I'll place something to keep the eggs in the center so the late hatchers don't get shoved into the lip again. It was easy to set up and easy to clean/sanitize, which are both major pluses for me. It is also very small, so you can put it a lot of places where larger incubators simply won't fit (the main reason I bought it). Some minor issues: Incubator runs slightly cooler than the temp is set at even with the styrofoam cover for insulation. Not a big deal but you will have to set it slightly higher to get your desired temperature. All my chicks hatched right on time, which meant the incubator held temp. well and wasn't too cool even though I didn't fiddle with it once I got it set. I do keep the room they're in around 75-80F, so you may have to bump it up more than a degree to get it where you need it. The turner worked great for the chicken eggs but for quail eggs it was fair. It limits how many you can put in and jostles them around pretty roughly. For the future I'll probably get a 3D printed quail turner off ebay or etsy to increase the number of eggs I can put in and make sure they don't get cracked on accident. Water feeder is a great idea that doesn't work well in execution. Just manually add a little water when needed via the tube; it only takes a minute. You should be checking your temp./humidity via a separate and accurate gauge in the incubator anyway to make sure there aren't any problems. I dry hatch so I didn't add any water until lockdown, and it was easy to add a bit of water to slowly bump the humidity up to where I needed it. Once the humidity was raised, it stayed up pretty well. Overall I'm pretty impressed. Can't speak to the durability or longevity of the unit, but short term it does what its supposed to: it hatches the eggs. ... show more

I've never actually left a Amazon review before, but wow am I surprised by how well this little incubator worked for me. I hatched over 25+ in two different tries button quails, and currently working on some chukar eggs as I type this. The only slight issue I had (and I mean slight, could have been my fault even) is that the water container that leads to the incubator sometimes doesn't fill if it isn't at the correct height or straight enough. So just keep an eye on that if it seems like the water level isn't going down after a day or two. Beyond that though, it's a outstanding budget incubator with an easy to use interface. ... show more

I've used this twice now. I thoroughly read reviews and figured I would manually add water as needed based off complaints of the water dispenser not working well. I just wanted to add about 6 chicks to our flock and didn't want to spend a bunch on an expensive incubator. I bought 2 little temperature and humidity readers to keep inside to monitor it once I realized it didn't monitor that. First round of 12 eggs went ok, 4 hatched. My second round I had lots of temperature fluctuations and difficulty keeping a good humidity level, it was either high or it dropped quickly when it dropped. This round out of 12 eggs, 0 hatched and they came from the same group of layers as my first round. Wish I'd have spent the extra $ to get a better quality product. ... show more

I recently got two geese eggs and needed a way to incubate them with the best chance of hatching. I looked and looked but all the incubators that I used as a kid were now expensive. I resorted to Amazon and found this one. Not only was the price cheaper than other ones but it had a %15 coupon! I received it and immediately plugged it in. And the settings were easy to mess with and it kept the temperature like it was supposed to. Now the water reservoir didn’t work as planned because of gravity, but if you lift the reservoir the water will go into the incubator. So easy solution but not practical for people that can’t pay attention to their eggs every day. And if you plan to hatch bigger eggs like geese you must rotate them yourself.
