I've not heard a speaker this size have the bass extension and punch this has. If you like bass in a small form factor this is for you. Like any other small speaker the bass will deminish at near high/max volume but this is so far the best I've heard bass/power wise in this form factor. Mids and treble are still quite clear and relatively accurate too. I also own the Bose flex which is basically the same form factor and I find this speaker has deeper bass and slightly more power overall. My former speaker that I had for years stopped taking a charge. Read about this Tribit and decided to give it a try. I was very pleased with the look and overall feel of this speaker. The sole purpose for this speaker is to lay on my bed paired with my ipad and watch music videos and all the old westerns. The problem with this speaker is that it causes the videos and movies not to be in sync with the lips of the musicians and actors. Great Sound. Especially after firmware update 1.2.5. Great value when compared to Bose flex. Long Battery Live. Great Bluetooth connectivity. Other than poor latency (YouTube video and audio a bit out of sync). Plays loud without distortion. Good bass punch!

This speaker was a birthday present for my husband and though, for me, the speaker is a little heavy- he loves riding around with it around his wrist (there is a carry strap on one side) and listening to music loudly. Where we live, people play loud music all the time- from cars, on motorcycles, and now, my husband while riding his bike. He is a lover of loud music and bass, with this speaker- provides both- with high-quality standards. However, when I gave him this gift, I was dumb enough to tell him the speaker was waterproof. And, while I would never test an expensive product like he decided to, to find out- never as properly as my husband did- when he came back from work today and proudly announced to me he dumped an entire cup of water on it to find out if it was indeed waterproof- my mouth dropped open and for a moment, I didn't know what to say. "I know I told you it was waterproof," I said. "But in the past, we have gotten products that said they could do something or had a feature and it didn't work- right?" I asked him. My husband continued to look at me and cocked his head to the side- my tone implying to him, along with what I had said, that he had done something wrong. "You really thought it was a good idea to pour an entire cup of water on a speaker to find out if it was waterproof, was a good idea? What if it wasn't waterproofed to the point it could handle that much water?" I asked. "But it was," he told me. And, it's like he can't see that, that was not the point. But goodness, it was in his favor that it really was totally waterproof- because I would have had his head (just a figure of speech ;) had the cup of water ruined it. However now everyone knows that this speaker is waterproof- my husband tells me he thinks the entire thing is metal- and that explains the weight of it and why it can handle so much water. And he wants to take it in the shower next time he goes in. If I update this review with his obituary, you will all know that it didn't work but, if you see nothing, you can figure he probably has done that and it worked. Because if he can dump an entire cup of water directly on the speaker (I cringe each time I write or think of what he did)- it can most likely handle shower spray fine. Thank you for a high-quality product that hasn't killed my husband yet- either directly or indirectly- by shock or when I do him in- for going overboard in the way in which he tests products. Update on review 11/21/23- This speaker has become the one we use primarily at home- not just because it holds a charge for a long time, but also because of the sound and the ease of the way in which it hooks up with our Bluetooth. We have had this speaker for almost a month, and we continue to have no issues with it- other than who gets to use in it the house... ... show more

I've tried a lot of different bluetooth speakers over the years from inexpensive to expensive and this one, regardless of price, is now one of my favorites. When they say XBass, they really do mean it. To some speakers it seems like a marketing buzzword but this Tribit can put that on the package and not have to worry about it being a lie. To expand on this remember to keep in mind that it's still a small speaker and it won't rattle the windows. But what it does do and why I'm so fond of it is that the Bass is present and musical. When playing Jazz, a String Bass actually sounds like a String Bass. In rock, a Bass Guitar sounds like it should. The XBass setting also acts like a "loudness" setting in that it increases the bass at lower volumes. So you can enjoy your music with a "full sound" without having it on blast/full volume. If you want to run higher volumes you'll likely want to turn off XBass anyways as bass will increase with the volume naturally. My beef with a lot of bluetooth speakers being made today are the inclusion of pointless LED flashing lights, non-stereo sound and lack of a 3.5mm input. This one does not have LED lights thank goodness, but it does not play in stereo and it does lack the 3.5mm input. But with as good as it sounds and as much low end that they are getting out of this speaker, I can give up the stereo (or buy two and pair them in TWS, which I will likely do). The lack of a 3.5mm input isn't a deal breaker but I wish it had it. However, Bluetooth does work really well and I can be on one side of the house and the speaker is still connected on the other. You can sit it upright or lay it on its back. Both sound good and give flexibility to how in sounds in certain areas. I had no issues charging it up (it took about 3-4 hours as they suggested). In conclusion, this is right up there with the Sony's and JBL's and closely resembles the Bose Soundlink in design. Personally, I'd buy two of these for TWS before I bought the Bose that's twice the price (and still mono as well). Edit: had this speaker for a couple of months now (actually own two utilizing TWS). Still sounds fantastic and goes a long time between charges. My one complaint is that it does not stand up very well. When the front of the speaker is facing towards you (or parallel with the ground), it's easy to knock over. Had them on top of my tool bench and everytime I shut a drawer they'd fall over on their "backs" if I forgot to close it easy. It's my only annoyance with this as otherwise it's a great speaker for any amount of money. ... show more
