After opening the box and seeing the high density cardboard for reinforcement when shipping of dehydrator, I was sold for quality. Then when I carefully removed the foam wrapping off of glass door, I checked the metal shelves. All shelves stayed in place on their designated shelf ledge accept for the top shelf!!!! Thankfully my husband is handy and got out his tools!! Had to carefully unscrew the back and CAREFULLY disconnect the wiring clips!! Then unscrew the back screen that the top shelf was jammed at top of!! And finally shelf came free!! MAY I MAKE A SUGGESTION.... when packaging the dehydrator, there’s the reinforced tape used to hold the glass door in place. Can you please use the reinforced tape to secure the top shelf in place so it doesn’t slide up between fan metal screen during shipping??? This would be so helpful so not to crack the plastic dehydrator frame when trying to pull out jammed top shelf!! Can’t wait to use the dehydrator!! ... show more

I wanted to start off by saying that this product is quality built. When I started to search for quality dehydrators, I wanted either USA, Korean, or Japanese manufacture in that order. No "made in China". I want quality. After searching for an hour and reading reviews, things started to look the same. The reviews all look the same. Good quality this. Good quality that. I waited a bit to write this review so I can get my hands on it and test it out to give it a fair shake down. I have a restaurant. I know a good equipment when I see it. This is a great product. I bought the dehydrator with the SS trays and not plastic. I've been using this dehydrator nonstop for over a week and the performance is solid. Programming is very user friendly. I did read the manual to understand the multi function feature. I used 23 lbs of bananas on one of the runs. Cut them about 3/8" thick and dipped them in lemon juice. After about 20 hours, it was done. It was yummy. If you read my review so far, you must be wondering why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. The SS trays are not built ridgid enough. All the trays moves slightly out of shape, but goes back to the original shape. If the outer frame was a bit thicker/stronger, it would not have caught eye. It isn't a big issue. Just an observation. For the price I paid, I expected a bit better quality. I would highly recommend this dehydrator. Only time will tell about durability. I'll make corrections over time. I'll write up a review maybe a year later as well. ... show more

Initial impression- Seems to be a well built unit. Once at temp- the door did pop open on its own. I noticed only one of the magnets on the closure was in contact with the strike plate on the glass. This was easily remedied- the tempered glass door was not completely seated in the hinge which caused it to be misaligned. The glass was gently pushed deeper into the lower hinge, which resolved the problem. I’ve seen several reviews on the internet stating- “ will not reach advertised temps” On the initial test run, it met / surpassed advertised temps consistently over a 4 hour period with a +/- 3.5 degrees measured from top to bottom rack from the set temp. The unit had no food in it at the time, but I suspect that it will perform equally well once the 40 degree food inserted on the racks comes up to temp. So far, pleased with the purchase even with the minor door alignment, quality control issue. Update- The unit has run multiple batches of sweet potatoe, banana chip etc .... flawlessly. The first high temperature run was some bacon flavored ground venison jerky. The product performed as expected, no issues whatsoever. The Jerky was great and safe temps were reached and maintained quickly. Longevity will be the next test. This product will be used on a regular basis moving forward. ... show more

I dehydrate garden veggies & herbs. This dehydrator lets you set shorter or longer times and temperatures and is very versatile which is what you need for various different vegetables, herbs, and meats for jerky. I am very happy with this Tribest!

I am giving this product 4 stars because it came with sagging trays. This is not a cheap item and I got the stainless steel version of trays instead of the plastic ones. I do not feel that they should have been bowed. They do however fit in the machine nicely. I also love the use of the controls up in the front. It is quiet and does not put out a great deal of heat from around the door. the footprint is smaller than my microwave, but taller. It does fit under my cabinets though. I am concerned with dehydrators that don't reach 160 degrees for drying beef jerky. This one will reach 167 and has a nice 2 temp function. Small and compact. I can dehydrate 4 lbs at a time so it is not made for production. Quality made with a glass door. I think it is overpriced compared to what's on the market, but it's like buying a Mercedes vs a Ford.
