the drawer does not slide in and out because the sides didn’t not hold well because the screws would fall out because the hole is stripped. the seller did offer me some monetary compensation. if it was better quality it would be worth it **edit: the seller reached out and offered a resolution for the product i received and i think that was very generous of them, since they didn’t have to. i adjusted my rating given their good customer service and wanting to make things right. consider giving them a chance since they do seem to care in delivering a good product so maybe i just happen to have the poor luck and got a defective item.

I'm amending my original 1 star review because the unit is actually very well-designed. IT'S THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT ARE CONFUSING. I shouldn't even call them instructions. They're just diagrams, NOT "detailed instructions" as the Amazon site states. The diagram does NOT show the difference between pieces 13 and 14, which in my unit were mislabeled as each other, so I originally assembled the unit incorrectly (though by number, I was exactly following the diagram), and I couldn't tell until I'd put it together that they were NOT interchangeable. I initially thought that there was a problem with the drawer slide not being the correct side, until I tried taking the unit apart and switching pieces 13 and 14. The unit itself is attractive, stable, and provides excellent organization and storage for files and other random stuff. It also matches Tribesign's corner desk, which I already have and really like. It WOULD have been reasonably easy to assemble, and I would have graded it 5 stars except for some flaws: I'm taking off a star because of poor directions, mislabeled parts 13/14, 1 part (piece 11) that really should have had pre-drilled pilot holes, and one part (part W-6, a cross dowel) that had a factory flaw (but I was able to replace it for $1.38 at my local Home Depot). So I hope Tribesign will re-do their instruction sheet, or perhaps post an assembly video (with some explanation, please!).

I haven't had the file cabinet very long - going on about a week, so it's difficult to evaluate at this point, except to make a few points: 1) I'm impressed with the amount of filing space within the drawer, which will come in handy as I declutter my house of papers; 2) when I unboxed it, I discovered that it was shipped with a few damages - minor but damaged nonetheless; 3) assembly instructions made putting it together easy-peasy! It was diagrammed with easy step-by-step instructions, and each piece and the tools were labeled with numbers or letters, which made it a really simply task. I'd recommend it, but I do so with a warning that I don't think the manufacturer is too concerned about chips here and there.

I like the look of this unit, but the file drawer is useless. The rails are so thick that normal hanging folders fall off constantly. They are also too small to fit legal file folders.

Let’s be honest here… I was looking for a relatively inexpensive shelf and some storage and that’s what I got. Unit was relatively easy to assemble and shelf holds printer appropriately. The bottom storage drawer was a bit disappointing in that one of the aluminum supports arrived crushed and the bottom locking anchors cracked the pressed particle board if you go past “snug tight” - treat it very gently. Again level set your expectations… it’s an inexpensive unit with low cost materials etc but it’s doing what I need it to do… Follow up- I was surprised/impressed that I was contacting by the company on May 31st. They expressed their remorse regarding my experience and have looked to make amends. I appreciate their response and their willingness to stand by their product and make it right. Hopefully this de-risks the decision for other buyers.

If you are of common sense and can understand general building practices, get this! Its very strudy, the quality is great, and I LOVE IT!!! But the instructions are extremely vague but simple enough to follow as long as you have all the pieces laid out and have common sense as to which parts go where. The side pieces for the drawer part were labeled opposite (#13 & #14) in addition both those pieces had the drawer metal mechanism flipped upside. The fix was super simple once I realized what was happening. One of the wood pieces did not have pre-dilled holes which made it a little harder to hand screw in the screw but still worked. It came with a couple extra pieces and its definitely my fault for not counting all the pieces before hand and realizing it came with extra, instead of me trying to look around the room for a piece I lost. I love it overall now that it is complete!
