  • Excellent Item
This wireless adapter is perfect because it's powerful and small unlike the bigger adapters that break off all the time. Plug in and forget, and it has a great cover range, I think it's even more than the product features say it is. This is just the thing for you if your upgrading your computer to wireless N or if your like me and have a PC that doesn't have a built-in wireless adapter. ... show more

  • Worked great for 6-8 weeks then literally burned out
Worked great for 6-8 weeks then literally burned out. When it stopped working I ran through all the normal rebooting the router steps, though my phone and PS4 were still receiving wifi. I restarted the PC, nada. Went so far as to uninstall and reinstall the driver and software. When I took the wireless card out, it was super hot to the touch. I freaked out, let it cool down and tried it in a different USB port. Nothing. I plugged a microphone into that same USB port and left it on for three days, then checked the plug- cool as a cucumber. I was very excited when I found the Trendnet wireless card for so cheap, but I now think that perhaps you get what you pay for. I purchased a different brand wireless card, put it in the same USB slot the Trendnet card was in, and haven't had any problems. I hope my issue was a random lemon and no one else has to deal with this hot mess. :( ... show more

  • Efficient and Inexpensive!
This adapter works great!!! I'm giving it a 4 because when I first got it, I had so many issues with it tripping on and off. I eventually tweaked around with the settings both on the adapter and my computer and it is functioning well now. The only problem I'm yet to figure out is how to stop it from disconnecting to the internet when my laptop goes to sleep and how to get it to automatically connect to saved networks. Because, even though I have clicked the 'Connect automatically' option, it does not connect automatically. I would recommend this product to anyone I know. It's cheap (for its capabilities) and efficient and very very portable. ... show more

  • Good Product
Good price and good product. Internal wireless nic went out on my son's laptop. This product got it back up on the network. It is small and works well.

  • Inconsistent connection, cheap make, low bandwidth, and stupid installation practice
I'll start by saying that, if you're buying this, before you make the purchase, convince yourself this is absolutely an extremely temporary measure. This device is, for lack of better words, a joke. I'd never heard of the brand, the installation media is a CD... Not even a full size one, in this day and age, a disc reader is very uncommon, and I lacked one. I typed the text as I saw it on the disc and downloaded the software online with my phone. I moved the file over to my computer through a cable. The make of this device is of cheap plastic and machined aluminum. The only redeeming factor being its small form which makes it much less in the way, still needlessly takes up a port. Installing the firmware isn't difficult, but I recommend you move on from it very quickly because I can imagine it holding keyloggers. The website I got it from (what I believe was their official website) felt pretty... Suspicious? I didn't like that it looked like a place I'd get a virus from. The network connection (while it did work) was unstable and fell off most of the time, upload and download speeds were pretty bad, but better than no connection at all I guess. Range was not very good. Again, I advise to only use this as a temporary measure in case you absolutely require it in that situation. But do not settle for it. ... show more

  • Not for Ubuntu 18.04/Kernel 4.15.+
Changes in the Linux kernel have maybe broken the wifi driver for this specific device, I've ordered 2 other products (TP link and Panda?) to see if they provide more support. The Trendnet driver does not compile/recompile with issues in the "timer" code of the kernel, and there is a scramble on the forums regarding 4.15 changes breaking this and many other wifi adapters. • 2.4 ghz only
This has been working great for the month that I've been using it. However, I just switched ISPs and upgraded my routed. I also configured it to only put out a 5ghz signal (strong, more consolidated signal). The dongle wasn't picking it up. Sure enough when I enabled 2.4, I could see it. Going to try to return it since putting out 2.4 and 5 ghz signals isn't going to do me any more good than any other option ... show more
