I got this for my dads bed because he refused the thicker pad. His worry was he wouldn't be able to get into bed if it was higher. In the end he ended up folding it in half to make a 2 inch but now its only half the bed lol. Its a good foam and performs as a 1 inch should. I bough a king size & cut it to fit my queen mattress so that I would have leftovers to make a cushion for the back portion of my recliner & still have some leftover to soften my kitt's bed!
