I ordered the light "Bar" (with the track/covers), as well as the light strip these guys sell, wanting to compare the difference. I'm installing in an RV, so it's a bit more challenging. As for this light bar product, it was very nicely packaged, probably too nice. The installation instructions were pretty clear and easy to follow, EXCEPT, the retaining clips. The photo of the clip install is a bit unclear to me. A profile photo of that clip might help, as to how it's installed in the track. I'd suggestion just playing with a piece in your hand until you totally get how the clip fits in the track. It fits as it should, but super tight, and took a bit more force to get in place, and is the only possible weak point, but still a super minor thing. I will be buying more of these at some point. They are GREAT if you stay in a simple straight line, or on one plane, as in around a ceiling, or as accent lighting. Make sure your cuts are straight, as there are a lot of leds in this and it will peak out of any cover if not matched up tight. I'd prefer each track be a bit longer, maybe even a meter, plus a couple shorter. A dremel cutoff wheel does the trick to easily cut. To me, the 'bar' is great if directly in your sights, like around a ceiling, and their regular sticky light strips, would def be better out of sight, like under cabinet, but still not bad even within view. And their APP is super nice, and will do anything I can imagine. Is fairly intuitive. Only knock, so much info is packed on the screen, it's hard to scroll without touching an option and changing things on accident. Maybe space out the selectable items a bit more, leave room for a finger to scroll. But, overall all, great job. Worked very well with Alexa, easy integration. The light "bar" item is a bit more pricey, but it does look/feel a bit premium, but at $50 it'd be a very good value.

I am SO pleased with this kit. It looks INCREDIBLE in person. It diffuses the light so well, is very sleek looking from all angles, and was super easy and satisfying to put up. I think the price is justified! I also disagree with the others saying that these don’t get dim enough, for me they can get pretty low, into a nice ambient light.

The media could not be loaded. Just to be clear, I only took off a star because of 2 things.one the type of glue used on the back of the tracks. It’s very good glue. Too strong to use because it will destroy any wall that it is removed from. I drilled 2 holes in each and used small screws (small holes are easy to patch). The second, was that there needs to be at least one extra diffuser cover in the box. I used the entire led strip (3 corners) and still had 3 tracks left. I do really like the build quality of the led strip itself. And the tracks/covers fit together really well, even the corners. The finish(even though I measured something wrong SMH which lead to a great looking accident) came out better than I expected.

Well made kit. Plenty of track you will have left overs. Take your time. Uninstalled mine by the crown molding and it looks great. But lay it out on the floor first if you can to get an idea of where you will have to make cuts. Fresh hacksaw does a fine job of it. These were a great addition to a game room

Our new kitchen island required lighting under the overhang, both functionally and as an accent. I initially considered (and bought) IKEA LED lighting designed for under-counter mounting but relented after struggling to find a way to mount it in this application. Bought this set and installed it myself. The first thing to know is that this set is just an RGB light strip with a controller. In fairness, they have a pretty unique feature that addresses LEDs in groups, allowing for more elaborate moving light effects. That was not a factor in our case as we only really wanted the lighting to be one solid color across the whole strip. So, why pay almost 10X the cost for this one? The diffusers. Having installed a lot of LED lighting in my homes, dating back to the late '90s, I know that the best results require diffusion of the light from individual LEDs. This just means that the light is spread out and the you see an even pattern, rather than just individual hotspots. That is why I have consistently used IKEA lighting for in and under cabinets. However, for this project I selected the Govee product because of the added installation flexibility. The color changing was a bonus, or so I thought. There are 3 key shortcomings that effect my review. 1) The whole thing feels flimsy and suited more to a temporary installation (like a dorm room), 2) both the mounting channel and diffusers lack any sort of locking mechanism to bind them together, leaving gaps if not painstakingly installed, and 3) the pieces are laughingly short, given that the total length is over 16 feet, making multiple joints a fact of life. The light tape (a flexible PCB that holds the LEDs) should come with an adhesive backing. The furnished clips do help, but do not hold the LEDs flat against the backing channel. The result is that when the LEDs get closer to the diffuser, they lose a great deal of that diffusion and individual hot spots become visible. For mounting, they provide some double-sided tape that you attach to the mounting channel. But there are no mounting holes in the channel if you need to screw it to a wall or ceiling. I drilled my own holes and purchased #6x5/8 wood screws to mount it firmly to a piece of wood. Could it hurt to have the holes and include a little bag of screws from the factory? You'll note from my photos that I installed the controller in the face of the island wood panel. It took some creative routing to get the wires in behind the panel, but it turned out okay. Problem is, the microphone (for music sensing) is located on the side, not the front of the controller. Poor decision on their part as it restricts utility for flush-mount installations. And finally, the performance. Forget about Soft White, Warm White, or anything resembling those hues. Even manual mixing of RGB doesn't get you there. Everything has a Green tinge. Brightness is also lacking, especially compared to the IKEA lights (Mittled). Might be okay in a dark room, but even then, these lights are weak. Conclusion; would I buy them again? No. Finicky installation, low light output, poor color rendering. My go-to remains Mittled for Warm White, and I need to keep looking for an RGB version of equivalent performance. Your mileage may vary. (P.S. The controller got a bit of wood stain on it and had not been cleaned when I took the pictures.)
