Description

This TRX-4M is a quality RC 4WD torque monster! Not to mention it not only crawls but it muds too! Drove it through a 3” mud hole and it bogged a bit but pulled right through it! I have purchased the larger TRX-4 in this Land Rover model and I’m hoping it’ll be just as good! First off performance is exceptional it has plenty of power to do what you need to do my plan for this unit is to turn it into a FPV inspection tool not sure how I’m going to do it yet but hopefully I’ll figure it. The value is decent I mean you get decent performance, appearance, and power as it is stock however you can upgrade this thing which is amazing. Lastly what I don’t like about it. This is why I only give it 4 stars and I must mention it’s not a deal breaker at least for me. 1. The charge time is extremely long it took about 2-1/2 hours to completely charge it from out of the box. Hopefully it won’t take long in future charges. 2. You have to use a proprietary charger it must be 5V 2A if not it will not charge and Traxxas does not include a wall adapter something that should be included since the Lipo is so sensitive to voltage input. Also it is USB-A not today’s standard which is a bit of a bummer as well. 3. This one could be a deal breaker especially if you use it for its intended purposes the thing is top heavy if you hit a hill quickly it will turn over also the suspension is a bit soft I noticed on some excursions the suspension bottomed out quite a bit which isn’t really a problem since I’m not sitting it but still it rubs when it bottoms out. Overall this for me will make a great tool for inspecting crawl spaces once I can figure out how to outfit it with a camera. If you’re serious about crawling and missing with one of these RC cars I’d go with the TRX-4 it’s much more capable and has a lot more features to offer. ... show more

Arrived in perfect time and conditions, this is a great starting crawler. Think of investing a little more on some upgrades, but out of the box, just loooots of fun. Bought an extra battery, but color is just great. Looks very realistic.

    • Bad quality control and customer service
Right out of the box the steering servo was broke so it didnt work at all, contacted customer support and that took a long time, they wanted me to take apart the old servo to fix the problem which is very complicated vs just sending me a new servo, too much of a hassle and ended up breaking it more trying to get it out and take it apart and had to spend a lot of time on youtube to try and figure it out. Spent half the original cost on aftermarket parts just to get it working again. One tire had a defect out of the box it had a big flat spot and like an air bubble bump defect and stuck out causing the tire to not roll correctly, company refused to fix just one tire and told me to buy 4 new, shocks on one side were different from the other side and only 1 of the 4 shocks had any oil in it. Very poor quality control, and unit was bought straight from manufacture. Nice unit once i replaced almost everything on it. So if your buying this be prepared to spend way more money to fix factory defect problems to get it correctly working. Or to replace the super brittle plastic brackets that holds in said broken parts. ... show more
