    • Compact size, but bass really bumps
Color: Megatron Black
I’m really impressed with this speaker! It gets surprisingly loud for its size, and the bass definitely has some punch to it. It’s small enough to easily fit in a purse, which makes it convenient to take with me when I’m traveling or going somewhere. Connecting it was quick and easy, and I haven’t had any issues with the Bluetooth connection. The battery life also seems pretty long. I typically only use it for an hour or two at a time, so I haven’t had to recharge it frequently during my normal use. Overall, this is a great little speaker if you want something portable without giving up volume or bass. It’s compact, easy to use, and sounds better than I expected for the size. ... show more

    • A well-made, portable Bluetooth speaker for young and old Transformers fans
Color: Megatron Black
I grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons and still love the Transformers as an adult many years later. So, I was extremely happy to receive the offer to try out and review this Transformers, Megatron Black, TF-Y16 Bluetooth Speaker with 45 mm Driver, 4.3 W Output, Bluetooth 5.4, IPX5 Waterproof, TWS Stereo Pairing and 800mAh Battery. The good: This portable speaker matches the listing images in terms of colors and design. The unit is incredibly lightweight, which makes it highly portable. It's designed with four feet for placement on a shelf, tabletop or other flat surface. The integrated stretch lanyard for hanging the speaker pulls easily from around the sides. The setup took less than a minute and paired without difficulty because of clear paper instructions. The volume / multi-function buttons are easy to use. Although this device lacks true stereo surround sound (i.e., the listing images and text state it's only achievable with two units), the sound quality is actually much better than I expected when I made the order. The bass isn't at boombox level, but it's still pretty great. There are no static or other disruptive background sounds. Frankly, this speaker is easier to use and produces better sound than an expensive, high-end one that I own that has a lot more bells and whistles. Unlike with that device, I haven't been forced to guess how everything works. I even received a charging cable with this one. The not so good: - The lanyard is made of an elastic, wrapped cord that outgasses a rubber odor. Based on past experiences with stretch bands like this one, the cord materials will also likely weaken and stretch out of shape over time. - The Tips section in the manual claims that this product shouldn't be used near water. I have no idea why the listing images and text make IPX4 and IPX5 Waterproof rating and torrential rain claims. The instructions state that a user isn't even supposed to handle the device with wet hands. - The unit asks for access to the user's contact book and call history to activate specific phone features. I'm not okay with it collecting personal details unless absolutely necessary. I don't consider hands-free caller ID and dialing features necessities that are worth any potential loss of private information. I considered dropping the rating by another star because of the waterproof issue, but I have no idea if the Tips are accurate or merely talking about an older model. I've seen videos that suggest the manual is wrong. I have no plans to test water resistance. I don't need to use this speaker while outdoors in the rain or taking a shower. Given that ease-of-use, good sound quality and other beneficial aspects of this product, the positives more than outweigh the negatives. I consider this device a well-made portable speaker. At the time of this writing, it's a great value. ... show more

    • Not up to Soundwave's standards

I have a single speaker and am reviewing accordingly. I would hope the duo configuration sounds better but based on the single speaker performance I can only imagine so much. On the plus side, the speaker connected readily to Windows and to an Android device. It's a decent but compact size, fitting easily into an adult hand, a pocket, or a bag. I haven't managed to drain the battery out from a full charge after testing for a while, although the listed 500mah rating doesn't give me a hope for a long listening session if I use it again. The max volume is impressive indoors and reasonable outdoors. The audio quality is aggressively mid. My main disappointment from this unit comes from seeing what appears to be a 2" dedicated woofer on the bottom and imagining that, at least on a firm surface, it could put out better bass than comparable small speakers. It doesn't, and the mids and highs are only so-so as well. It's not an awful value but at a similar price point ($25) I've had better portable Anker, JBL, etc mini-speakers across the entire audio range, including lows. It's 'fine.' It might even be genuinely interesting to try out a duo pair. But if you're comparing solo similar-priced speakers, there are better options in 2026. It most certainly is not "rugged." It is splash-resistant, slightly, but even without the instructions disclaiming most wet conditions uses, the exposed flexible driver on the bottom would be easily torn or punctured by rough handling. A strange choice to highlight that in the advertising, and a deceptive one. Amplifying my disappointment, although not the audio: I'm a casual Transformers/80s nostalgia fan and the tie in here is paper-thin, consisting of a Decepticons logo on the power button and nothing else. Not even a classic "transforming robot" power on noise, which would have been such an easy choice. ... show more

    • Amazing Megatron Bluetooth Speaker with Powerful Sound!
Color: Megatron Black

This Hasbro Transformers Bluetooth speaker is outstanding! I got the Megatron black version, and the design looks amazing with the Decepticon symbol. It's a little smaller than an adult hand and can fit easily in your palm. It has a rubber band-style hanging feature that makes it easy to hang the speaker almost anywhere, and it’s very portable. The intent is to have this flat when not hanging. It comes with a charging cable and uses a Type-C charger, which is convenient. The back of the speaker has an opening that allows the bass to flow freely, and the sound quality is impressive. It has great volume, strong bass output, and the audio sounds crisp and clear. The connection is quick and easy, and the built-in buttons on the speaker make it simple to adjust the volume and controls. Whether you’re a Transformers fan or just looking for a durable, great-value Bluetooth speaker, this one is definitely worth getting. I love how good this speaker sounds! If I could give it at rating of 10 stars I would. ... show more

    • A Fun Portable Speaker for Travel and Casual Listening
Color: Megatron Black
This compact Bluetooth speaker combines a playful FlexCube design with the kind of features that make sense for travel, desk use, camping, or casual outdoor listening. The Megatron Black styling gives it more personality than a generic portable speaker, while the integrated lanyard makes it easy to carry or attach to a bag when moving around. The speaker uses a 45 mm full-range driver rated at 4.3 watts and supports Bluetooth 5.4 with a listed wireless range of up to 32 feet. It can operate as a single mono speaker or pair with a second matching unit through TWS for separate left and right stereo channels. An 800mAh rechargeable battery is listed for about five hours of playback, with roughly a two-hour charging time. The built-in microphone also allows basic hands-free call control directly from the speaker. Pros • Compact FlexCube design is easy to carry • 45 mm driver provides a practical setup for personal listening • Bluetooth 5.4 supports modern wireless connectivity • TWS pairing allows two speakers to create true stereo channels • Built-in microphone adds hands-free calling capability • Integrated lanyard is useful for travel and outdoor use • Approximately two-hour charging time is convenient for a portable speaker Cons • 4.3W output is better suited to personal or small-space listening than large gatherings • Listed battery life of about five hours is relatively modest for extended outdoor use • Stereo playback requires purchasing and pairing a second speaker • The product information is inconsistent about water resistance, listing IPX5 in the title but IPX4 in the feature details From an audio-production perspective, this is best viewed as a compact convenience speaker rather than something intended for critical listening or large-room playback. In a typical use case, it could work well on a desk, in a hotel room, beside a campsite, or clipped to a bag for casual music and podcasts. Pairing two units through TWS would also give users a wider stereo presentation than a single cube can provide. Final Thoughts This portable speaker offers a fun combination of compact design, Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, TWS stereo capability, a built-in microphone, and an easy-carry lanyard. Its 4.3W output and roughly five-hour battery rating make it best suited to personal listening and smaller spaces rather than parties or extended all-day use. One detail buyers should note is the conflicting water-resistance information in the listing, so I would treat splash protection conservatively rather than assuming the higher rating. Overall, it offers good value for users who prioritize portability, distinctive styling, and straightforward wireless features in a small speaker. ... show more

    • Impressive Sound in a Small Package
Color: Megatron Black

I was genuinely surprised by how good this little Bluetooth speaker sounds. For such a compact and portable device, the audio quality is impressive. The sound is clear and balanced, and the bass is much better than I expected from a speaker of this size. Pairing was quick and easy, and it connected to my devices without any issues. Once connected, the Bluetooth connection remained stable, making it great for listening to music, podcasts, or videos both indoors and outdoors. The compact FlexCube design makes it extremely portable. It's easy to toss into a bag, take on trips, bring camping, or use around the house. Despite its small size, it produces plenty of volume for personal listening and small gatherings. The Transformers-themed styling is also a fun bonus, especially for fans of the franchise. The speaker feels well-made and durable, and the waterproof design adds extra peace of mind when using it outdoors. Overall, this is a fantastic portable speaker with surprisingly powerful sound, solid bass, easy connectivity, and great portability. If you're looking for a compact Bluetooth speaker that sounds much bigger than it looks, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended! ... show more

    • It works but never really stood out
Color: Megatron Black
I'm a little torn on this speaker because it works, but it never really stood out to me. Pairing was easy, and I had no trouble connecting it or playing music. It gets reasonably loud for its size, but I wouldn't describe the sound as especially full or powerful. It isn't harsh or tinny, but it also doesn't have much depth. The midrange and bass both felt pretty limited, so the overall sound was just average to me. I also tried the built-in calling feature a few times but couldn't get it working. I may have been missing something, but with only three buttons and fairly minimal instructions, I wasn't able to figure it out. The included elastic strap also wasn't my favorite. I understand the idea of giving you a way to hang it, but I would have preferred a more substantial loop or clip instead. One small thing that surprised me was that mine arrived with a completely dead battery. That's not a major issue since it charged normally, but most portable electronics I've bought have arrived with at least enough charge to try them out. For me, this is one of those things that does what it's supposed to do without any major problems, but it also doesn't really separate itself from the many other Bluetooth speakers. ... show more

    • Megatron finally serves a good cause
Color: Megatron Black
Review Image by Revive 75
Bought this as a Transformers fan first and a speaker shopper second, but honestly it delivers on both fronts. The Megatron Black colorway looks awesome, the FlexCube design has that angular, mechanical Decepticon aesthetic that looks like it belongs on a collector's shelf, but it's a legitimately functional little speaker, not just fan merch with a chip inside. For a 45mm driver at 4.3W, the sound is punchy and clear, plenty of volume for a desk, tent, or picnic table, with more bass than I expected from something this compact. The 800mAh battery got me through a full evening plus some morning tunes, and it recharges quickly. Bluetooth pairing is instant and the connection stays solid well across the yard. The built in mic works fine for quick calls too, voices came through clearly on the other end. It's compact and light enough to toss in a backpack pocket, and it's survived being knocked off a picnic table already. Megatron is built tough, as expected. Great gift for any Transformers fan. Fun design, real sound quality, outdoor ready. Roll out... er, rise up! ... show more
