The first thing is be aware of the 5-5 bolt pattern. The 5-4.5 pattern is standard. The 5-5 pattern is harder to find wheels with that pattern. There is a very good chance that the existing wheels on the trailer you are putting these on will not fit on the brake drums that come with this kit. The second thing you should be aware of is if you are putting this kit on a trailer with a DROP AXLE, the drop axle will be only inches away from the brake adjustment slot. It will be very hard to adjust the brakes if you have a DROP Axle. Getting self adjusting brakes is MUCH better and not that much more expensive. I wish I knew both of these things before I bought and installed this kit on MY trailer! ... show more

There were no installation instructions with the package which would not be a problem if I was replacing an existing system….i was not aware that there was a left and right side and the small pad faces forward and the electromagnetic is on the bottom. Now I have to go out and do the installation all over again…no happy at all ... show more

Everything looks solid and installed well but I had to reuse several bolts, a spring and a tensioner from the old brakes due to shipping damage. With two units in one box it was very heavy and the hardware was swimming around in a sea of Styrofoam balls. Made a mess of the porch and yard trying to find all the parts.
