This Jo Ral 2A Trumpet Bubble mute is perfect for me. This mute gives it a nice warm sound the resonates perfectly throughout the horn without any problem. Many people come up to me and said they loved the sound of this mute and it gives it a little bit of a "Romantic Trumpet" sound. It's exactly what I was looking for with this Jo Ral mute. So go with the Bubble mute rather than the standard harmons mute...and if you have the cash for the Copper Jo Ral Bubble mute, then go for it. Otherwise, go with this one, I personally love the sound it projects and highly recommend it to any Jazz trumpeter.

This is the best one out there. The intonation is GREAT and this mute has such a crystal clear sound, especially when you lay into it. Having said that there are so many distinct sounds that you can create with this mute. It really is like having 5 mutes in one. All the highs and lows are in perfect balance on this mute. One of the coolest things that sets this mute apart from others is how it sounds in the low register with the stem taken completely out of the mute. It is the sweetest, fattest most lush sound i have ever heard come from this type of mute. It is great, buy it!

I owned a Harmon mute for years, but recently decided to try the Jo Ral after reading the reviews. I am a professional playing in Southeast Florida and find the mute to be much better than the Harmon for playing lead. It penetrates without being too edgy and plays well in tune. A good buy for anyone looking to upgrade. But, it is a personal preference as to the sound you like.

To all the people complaining that this mite doesn’t stay in the horn, just breathe some hot breath into the bell first. The moisture makes the cork and metal stick together. Easy-peasy. Best mute I’ve ever owned.

I bought this mute for use in big band and small combo performances. The tone of this mute is spot-on, with a bright sound, while providing relatively low resistance for free blowing, both stem in and out. The cork of the mute could be a little more tacky, but I haven't had many problems with it. The tone and quality of this mute (I believe) far surpasses that of the tradition Harmon brand mute, and provides a much better playing experience.

Great sound. Just what I wanted. I had bought a mute a few months ago that muted too much of the sound and made it hard to play without extra effort. This is what I had been looking for all along. This was recommended by someone who was teaching me about circular breathing. This mute is a lot easier to practice with than the other one I have.

Very impressed with quality. Lovely sound produced, and slide works well. Cork has a slight tendency to loosen (as mentioned in other reviews) but I simply press down on it every time I use the mute to ensure it stays and have not encountered any issue
