To all the people complaining that this mite doesn’t stay in the horn, just breathe some hot breath into the bell first. The moisture makes the cork and metal stick together. Easy-peasy. Best mute I’ve ever owned.

This is the best one out there. The intonation is GREAT and this mute has such a crystal clear sound, especially when you lay into it. Having said that there are so many distinct sounds that you can create with this mute. It really is like having 5 mutes in one. All the highs and lows are in perfect balance on this mute. One of the coolest things that sets this mute apart from others is how it sounds in the low register with the stem taken completely out of the mute. Great sound. Just what I wanted. I had bought a mute a few months ago that muted too much of the sound and made it hard to play without extra effort. This is what I had been looking for all along. As a semi professional trumpet player, I pride myself on the quality of the tone I produce. This mute gives a unique tone and stands out when used for the purpose to which is was designed. My only conern is the quality of construction. Within after a couple of uses, the cork top came off. When paying this much for a mute, this shouldn't happen. I did return the item and a credit to my credit card was processed immediately. Perhaps I mught try just one more time, but that remains to be seen. If the cork did stay on, and for all around purpose, I would hate rated this product five=stars!! ... show more
