Description

HoFire trumpet straight mute helps lower playing volume for apartments, dorms, bedrooms and practice rooms. It gives trumpet players a more manageable way to practice at home while maintaining the clear, focused response expected from a straight mute. The tapered body and composite cork pads help seat securely in most standard Bb trumpet bells. Its lightweight design makes it easy to install, remove and carry in a case or gig bag. The spun aluminum body produces the classic straight mute response players expect, with a bright, focused character that works well for jazz, concert band and daily practice. Premium composite cork pads help improve grip and durability for repeated use. The material is designed to resist compression better during daily insertion and removal. HoFire straight mute is made from lightweight spun aluminum with a smooth finish and durable composite cork pads. It is designed for repeated daily practice, offering a dependable fit and an easy-to-carry solution for students, beginners and everyday players. A practical choice for school practice, private lessons and building daily consistency without needing a large rehearsal space. Lightweight and easy to use, this straight mute is helpful for newer players who want a simple, portable practice accessory. Works well for band students who need a straight mute for rehearsals, assignments and everyday warmups. A bright, classic straight mute sound makes it a useful accessory for jazz practice, home warmups and regular playing sessions. HoFire combines the features most trumpet players look for in a straight mute: quieter home practice, a bright focused response, lightweight aluminum construction, durable cork pads and a fit that works with most standard Bb trumpets. • Perfect for Practice — Clear Sound, Lightweight Build!
As a regular trumpet player, I’m always looking for ways to keep my practice sessions quiet without sacrificing tone quality — and this HoFire Lightweight Aluminum Trumpet Straight Mute exceeded my expectations! Key Benefits: Lightweight Aluminum Construction – Super easy to handle and doesn't weigh down the bell. Excellent Sound Dampening – Provides a soft, muted tone that's ideal for indoor or apartment practice. Perfect Fit – Snugly fits in my trumpet bell without slipping, thanks to the thick cork padding. Durable & Well-Constructed – Despite daily use, this mute has held up incredibly well. Whether you're a beginner looking for a reliable mute or a professional needing a practice silencer, this product delivers on both quality and value. I noticed no weird buzzing or pitch distortion — it preserves your intonation nicely. It’s also great for brass musicians who travel, since it’s compact and durable. Highly recommended for anyone searching for a trumpet mute silencer, trumpet straight mute, or a lightweight practice mute that gets the job done. I would definitely purchase again! Excellent value, effective noise reduction, sturdy materials, and consistent performance for brass practice. ... show more

    • Favorite mute for practicing in my apartment
I now own six (6) different mute of arying styles, sizes and shapes. This is my go to for practice sessions. Don't think twice, at this price, this is a must have in your brass instrument inventory.

    • Not useful as a trumpet straight mute for performance.
This mute is very small (diameter and length) compared to a standard straight mute (eg stone-lined, or Denis Wick). With the stock corks, it nearly closes off a standard size trumpet bell* completely, greatly reducing volume of the playing, and badly affecting the pitch of notes played. (*Benge CG) It might conceivably be useful as a practice mute (in order to play more quietly, but with increased back pressure and intonation problems). Should not be described as a trumpet straight mute, IMO. ... show more

    • Works like I would expect.
I don't really know what to say about it. It was cheap, and it definitely makes my trumpet much quieter. A good little mute.

    • I give it a five, but I don’t know
I do not play the trumpet, but my granddaughter does and she think's it’s okay. She’s an eight grade student and said to give it a five. So, I gave it a five.

    • Not a trumpet straight mute.
This is 100% not a trumlet straight mute, it's too small- even though it does fit. Because of the size it makes sound quality poor. This would be better on something like a clarinet.
