  • in macOS install drivers manually in order to avoid problems, do not use driver-free installation
I have bought TP-Link USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter, model: UE300(UN). I’m using it on MacBook Air which runs OS X Yosemite (10.10). The documentation says that this adapter has driver-free installation on OS X Yosemite (10.10). Yes, the adapter runs on Yosemite without driver installation, however after every reboot of computer, the adapter no longer works and it needs manual disconnecting from USB port and reconnecting again to USB port in order to be functional again. Manual installation of drivers from TP-Link website solved the problem and now the adapter works correctly. My advice is: do not use driver-free installation when using this adapter in macOS, you need to use manual installation of drivers from TP-Link website. Using this adapter I get transfer speeds via ftp at approximately 20-45 Mb per second. ... show more
