    • REALLY SLICK DEVICE, but a tad large
I did not notice this was a used device but that's OK' Looks brand new and works perfectly. I love KASA smart devices! Have yet to run into one that was tough to configure. I've tried a bunch of diff brands and so far, I like KASA's Android App the best and their Smart devices. Super easy to setup new devices. Easy to control in the KASA app, real intuitive and works well with Alexa (voice and app). I don't get asked for user/PW every time I go to use KASA app like some other smart device apps. KASA app is well designed, user friendly and just works as it should. Took less than 3 minutes to connect this device to my home system and it works great. I like having manual switchs on body to see what state outlets are in and turn outlets on and off manually if I want. Having 2 seperately controled outlets on one smart device is handy as I have 2 devices in same location now running off one smart plug. Frees up a duplex receptacle. And I like having the outlets 90 degree to the duplex outlets. You can get end tables, night stands etc. closer to wall than if it was smart plug, then device plug protruding 90 degrees from wall. ALL of these smart plugs' outlets should be 90 degrees from duplex receptacle. Couple cons in my opinion for this HS107: This KASA HS107 smart plug is large! I can still use the second duplex plug, but this device is just big and bulky. About 3.5X larger than one KASA mini smart plug. If KASA can make a mini-plug a given size, why does putting 2 in one device become the size of about 3 to 4 mini plugs? Side note: I have many KASA mini plugs and they all work perfect. High Price? Not understanding why I can get 4 KASA smart mini-plugs for around $25 and this one dual channel plug is $40? Maybe it's supply & demand? I assume KASA sells more single outlet Smart mini plugs than the HS107's. I WAS NOT given the HS107 free to review and I WAS NOT compensated for this positive review. I know it sounds like I was. I am just really satified with KASA products including their Android App! It's nice to find a good brand that sells good items at a reasonable price in this sea of Chinese goods. The install guide was made for Matter installations, which I don't use. figured out installation without Matter on my own, and thus minus one star. Pros works as designed, and flawless software installation was easy and flawless once I figured it out software better designed, organized than competitors compact size doesn't obstruct second socket on a wall much better description of its power rating and limits Cons installation for non-Matter applications should be included and can put others off since you have to figure it out In operation it uses nearly 1W. When off its 0.5W. plugged 24h it consumes at most 8760watts per year, or 8.8kW. It is noticeably warm in operation. ... show more

Overall, I love these. I use them for the lights over my plants, and lights in our living room (because there's no light switch in the room). I've had no issues setting these up in the past, but for some reason lately, anytime I try to add one, it refuses to connect to wifi until I go into my router's setting and change our 2.4Ghz network's channel. After that, it connects almost instantly. I want to knock a star off for that, but it's possible that's an issue with our router, not these plugs. The Tapo app is really easy to use, and makes it simple to set the plugs on a schedule. You can choose either set times to turn the plugs on and off, or go based off sunrise and sunset. It's also easy to set up a routine so multiple plugs turn on/off at the same time (this is what we do for out living room). This can also be done in the Google Home app, but I like the interface through the Tapo app better. Will definitely be buying more of these or other Tapo products! ... show more

I was unsure what to expect from these as I typically bought the 2nd Gen Leviton smart plugs, but I didn't want to wait for the delayed shipping nor did I want to pay about the same price for one as I did for a 3 pack. I'm overall glad I chose these. The setup was easy and I have yet to lose connection with any. This is not a criticism as I knew this when I bought them but I do wish they offered a matter over thread option as well. I would like to reduce to amount of things on the wifi network and will try to use thread moving forward. With that said these are great and for the price you can't beat them. ... show more

I have used several brands of smart plugs which work with HomeKit. The TP-Link Tapo was a breeze to set up and they just work! I've been using them for about a month and they have not gone offline (like several other brands I've tried). I would definitely purchase these again.

I have extensive home automation. These plugs were easy to configure and have been very stable in maintaining a connection to the wifi network (using Google Nest Wifi Pro). Unlike other smart plugs I have used, they do not go offline and are quick to respond. The Tapo app is very good and the integration to Google Home is surprisingly solid. I did try to use these with Matter and Google Home without setting up via the Tapo app, but Google Home was not working well. I'm attributing this to a Google issue at this point. Setting it up as a Matter device to Google Home did work well, but the connectivity after configuration did not. Once I set up it in a more traditional way using the Tapo app and Google Home integration, it's been highly stable. ... show more
