  • New gas cap resolved error codes 441 and 445
Toyota Yaris 2010 owner, error codes 441 and 445. Fuel Tank Cap found with broken plastic pieces. Order this genuine gas cap, after installed, I cleared the error codes with a ODBII reader. Codes never reappeared. I have driven the 500 miles after the gas cap replacement without any issues.

  • Works like it’s supposed too
There’s no replacement for these OeM gas caps. This one is legit. The cheap ones throw codes.

  • Not OEM.
I don't think this is a geniuine Toyota part. The cap doesn't click when tightened and the text on the cap is different. The photo shows a gas cap from the Toyota dealership on the right. Notice the lettering is different. The real Toyota cap uses an upper case U in the word Up and a period at the end of the sentence. Not and OEM part. Cap doesn't seal and check engine light is on. Not compatible with my Toyota Tundra. ... show more

  • Solution to my intermittent check engine light.
Application: 2010 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport DCSB I want to first point out that while this is an OEM product and arrived in a legitimate Toyota parts packaging, there are some subtle differences to the text on the cap. I’ve included some pictures (old OE cap on right and new on left) so you can see the texts differences. No big deal - doesn’t impact functionality but I’m a stickler for details so it is worthy of pointing out. As for my problem: I noticed about a year ago that my gas cap was not always giving me the “1-click” when I finished at the pump. I’d have to try several times before I felt like the cap was on correctly. A quick search on a Tacoma forum indicated that this is a common problem for owners. As time went on, I would get sporadic check engine lights. The codes were not always consistent with an EVAP leak or something that would point to the gas cap but resetting the ECU (disconnecting the battery to clear codes) and tightening the gas cap would keep the check engine light at bay for a few more weeks. Eventually, I decided to look up the OE gas cap part which brought me here and when I saw how cheap it was, decided to purchase. There are several off brand alternatives here on Amazon when you search the part number. They are cheaper but OE quality is worth an extra $3-4 dollars in my opinion. Install is a breeze. Grab some pliers if your old cap still has the tether in tact and yank it off the fuel door. Press fit the new tether in place and you’re ready to go. I’ve been check engine light free for several weeks now. The “1-click” is back and the difference was noticeable right away. Even comparing the old cap to the new one, it was easy to see how ineffective the rubber gasket had become. TLDR: Quality product that serves a basic function but could also save you a ton of hassle if you’re not mechanically inclined and your Toyota is throwing a check engine light pointing to a leaky gas cap. ... show more
