Be careful when buying this cap. It seemed to seal at first, but after a month, my warning light came on to tighten gas cap. The threads wouldn't tighten down any more . Then after couple of weeks, the check engine light came on, because of the darn gas cap!! Well, if you’ve got gas and you didn’t go to a restaurant you need this cap. It seems to work extremely well and with the changing world I think everybody needs to have one of these caps to protect your gas without going to a restaurant you know I used to say eat here and get gas well you need to protect it with this cap. ... show more

I’ll say this, when I forgot the key one day the cap slowed me down about two minutes getting the it off with a pry bar. Not more than that. I guess I liked it enough to buy another on anyhow. It came with keys coded the same and working the same. It’s a deterrent for crimes of convenience not a robust security measure. ... show more

    • 2015 Tacoma does not work on.
Installed on a 2015 Toyota Tacamo TRD PRO 4X4 Crew Cab Upon first installing was hard to turn to get the clicking sound of locked in. Tested the locking and unlocking several times without issue and the cap progressively got easier to screw in to get the set click to happen. After driving about 17 miles the check engine and TRAC OFF lights came on. Pulled over and reinstalled this cap and drove on. After a couple of day and no reset on the warning lights, I reinstalled the factory cap. After a couple of days and no reset took my truck to be checked. Now the good stuff. This $12.00 cap cost me: Four hours of my time, $134.00 in diagnostics costs plus gas and mileage to get this done. Trucks systems tested fine. Diagnosis: faulty after-market locking gas cap. For my losses on this product, I could have filled my gas tank, from empty, 3+ times. Definitely no worth the money it costs. ... show more

The cap itself locks and works fine, but its does me zero good if it keeps throwing check engine lights in my 2021 4runner. It's constantly showing evap leak, looks like I'll be changing gas caps.
