Be careful when buying this cap. It seemed to seal at first, but after a month, my warning light came on to tighten gas cap. The threads wouldn't tighten down any more . Then after couple of weeks, the check engine light came on, because of the darn gas cap!!     • You might just throw some codes....
The gas cap fits and locks as advertised. But there is one huge problem that render this gascap worthless to me. I drive a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. This is a third generation Tacoma years 2016-2022. I installed this cap on my Tacoma and within an hour it threw a code! I checked the code and it was an evap emission leak. Cleared the code and reinstalled the cap. Closed it as tight as it would go. Restarted the truck and threw the same code within 30 seconds. Cleared the code and reinstalled the OEM cap. No codes no problems. I don’t know for sure but I think this cap is vented. At any rate it lit the check engine light. If you’re buying it for a 2016-2022 Toyota Tacoma V6 truck be aware that it might cause some codes. If it does then you’ve wasted your money (just like me). ... show more
