Be careful when buying this cap. It seemed to seal at first, but after a month, my warning light came on to tighten gas cap. The threads wouldn't tighten down any more . Then after couple of weeks, the check engine light came on, because of the darn gas cap!! It cost me the time to go to a mechanic to check the "check engine" codes and find out it it was because EVAP fuel system seal leak code Turns out this fit is NOT the kind of cap my car needs (despite their description having my Chevy Tahoe listed) ... show more

I’ll say this, when I forgot the key one day the cap slowed me down about two minutes getting the it off with a pry bar. Not more than that. I guess I liked it enough to buy another on anyhow. It came with keys coded the same and working the same. It’s a deterrent for crimes of convenience not a robust security measure. ... show more

Well, if you’ve got gas and you didn’t go to a restaurant you need this cap. It seems to work extremely well and with the changing world I think everybody needs to have one of these caps to protect your gas without going to a restaurant you know I used to say eat here and get gas well you need to protect it with this cap. ... show more

    • You might just throw some codes....
The gas cap fits and locks as advertised. But there is one huge problem that render this gascap worthless to me. I drive a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. This is a third generation Tacoma years 2016-2022. I installed this cap on my Tacoma and within an hour it threw a code! I checked the code and it was an evap emission leak. Cleared the code and reinstalled the cap. Closed it as tight as it would go. Restarted the truck and threw the same code within 30 seconds. Cleared the code and reinstalled the OEM cap. No codes no problems. I don’t know for sure but I think this cap is vented. At any rate it lit the check engine light. If you’re buying it for a 2016-2022 Toyota Tacoma V6 truck be aware that it might cause some codes. If it does then you’ve wasted your money (just like me). ... show more

So far after all the sugar in the gas tank and the siphoning from The neighbors this at least deters them long enough to catch them on camera so it definitely paid for itself. Sometimes locking it is a little tricky or unlocking like it's the wrong key or it'll break off but if you don't gas up much it works just fine ... show more

The cap itself locks and works fine, but its does me zero good if it keeps throwing check engine lights in my 2021 4runner. It's constantly showing evap leak, looks like I'll be changing gas caps.
