This took my wife five minutes to install and it has been super easy to use since then. If you’ve ever been in a Costco gas line for 20mins and it’s finally your turn. You got the cards out and about to do a fire drill so you don’t have time to see the impatient looks of the person behind you - you don’t have to worry about this lock slowing you down. Great value and will not open without that lock. Not stiff, very smooth operation.

I saw several reviews of people saying it does not lock. This is because they did not hold the cap from moving while turning the key. After the cap is locked the top of the cap will just spin freely until you use the key to engage the lower portion. I thought mine didn't work until I realized I wasn't holding the cap from moving while locking it also. It takes two hands to lock this cap. One to hold the cap and the other to turn the key.

I have a 2005 Silverado 1500 (Calif). This is a Quick Click cap, not a threaded one. I understand you could have either. It works on my model. Check your filler tube to make sure which one you have. Great price.

I purchased this cap for my 2010 GMC Sierra and it worked fine. Tried it on my 2012 Chevy Captiva Sport and it fit it too. Amazon said it would not fit my Captiva but it did.

Works ok, but it does not have a proper seal which caused my check engine light to stay on. Mechanic did a smoke test to determine issue - smoke poured out around this locking gas cap. Had to go back to my factory cap. ‘06 Pontiac Torrent Glad to hear it works for some; it is a great idea!
