Absolutely amazing machine. I have spent years building a home gym utilizing my entire basement and this in my opinion just replaced about three other machines I have down there (haven’t used them since I got this). It’s the only Smith I could find that fit under the floor joist (HUGE PLUS) so if you have a shorter ceiling get this one. Not the easiest to assemble but not horrible either took about two hours and some patience. It’s smooth, handles large weight capacity (405 on bar not an issue) doesn’t wiggle around like cheaper models. All in all you can’t go wrong, I know the price seems to sting, but it’s worth it.

I’m giving this Smith machine three stars. My question is—how do you build a machine that feels sturdy, but then use cheap cables and handles? One of the cables snapped with only 50 pounds on it. When I reached out for a replacement, I was told I had to cover shipping and handling… which came out to $30. That’s more than the cable itself is worth. On top of that, the warranty is only three months, and there’s no listed max weight for the cables or even the machine in the product description. That’s a huge oversight for something meant for lifting. If you end up needing replacement parts like cables or handles, I’d honestly recommend buying them somewhere else. Otherwise, expect to overpay for something that shouldn’t have failed in the first place. Back to edit my review… other cable broke with only 100 pounds . Don’t trust these cable with heavy weight

My wife and I bought this smith machine in particular because the overall height was just a bit lower than other brands, but that is what we needed to fit our space perfectly. Even with the tight fit in our space, I’m 6’2” and I don’t have any issues or feel like it needs to be any bigger. My wife is 5’5” and hasn’t had any issues with the machine either then having to use a platform to stand on to get the smith bar low enough for dead lifts. We have been using it nearly every day for 2-1/2 weeks and are extremely happy with it. It arrived in 3 large boxes and assembly was straightforward. The build quality is excellent for a home gym, and everything is very easy to use and adjust. The best part about the purchase has been the seller. A few attachments were missing from the original shipment, but the seller shipped over the missing items within a few days. Overall I’m very happy with the experience and would definitely recommend this rack to a friend.
