I work in industrial automation, travelling word wide in industries with equipment in dirty, hot, dusty, greasy conditions and accidental droppings. I try a few laptop brands, sometimes I travel with two laptops, just in case one fails. Then I started to purchase reconditioned Panasonic, the CF-52 and the CF53, and the durability was excellent. The performance is fine for the type of software that I use, but no, are not for high demanding games, or managing high-definition pictures. Then the equipment manufacturer updates the software, and the new ones are more demanding, so I decided to purchase another refurbished laptop, the Panasonic CF-54. The first approach was with a smile, it is not heavy and bulky! Then the performances are better than the previous one. The camera is very handy for meetings, the headphones and micro in one plug are better than the split one, one USB with screw is genial when I am working on vibrating machines, the general construction is strong; what I would like to see is a cover by the external power supply, and an extra USB port. In the future I would like to upgrade the hard drive from 500Mb to1Tb and the Ram to 64Gb. Is, it is expensive, for the price of a use one I can buy a new commercial laptop, but certainly the construction is not the same, and my job is in the “laptop hand.” ... show more

    • Tough like the name
This is used by a diesel mechanic who isn’t gentle with anything. And also being covered in diesel and grease all the time is rough on anything. It has withstood the beating and still works great. Good quality. Battery lasts.

The media could not be loaded. Everything works great I had to take a star off because there is a small scratch on the screen but I did pay for exceptional quality and not excellent but everything works great I love it! It also has amazing pictures quality

    • Great Laptop!
I ordered this one because it has the same specs as the CF-54 that my employer issued me. Despite this ones unknown history and treatment, it is indistinguishable from my issued laptop. The only damage to the case is an inconsequential chip in the silver cover. It boots up fast, and runs standard office programs and the internet at a very satisfying speed. I run a small dumpster rental company on the side, so I added Verizon cellular card, and I can use this in my truck to update and create deliveries. I started out using tablets, but I am a grown up and I don't like pecking at a small screen to do important work. Tablets are great for watching funny dog videos, but not for important business. This laptop does both. The CF-54's are still new enough that you can get most parts and accessories such as drives, power cords, etc., but the less popular add-ons like the media bay 2nd battery are sky high.     • So far so good.
This is a used laptop that looks new. Not a scratch or blemish at all. Seems to work great except avery slight flicker in the screen. I'm not sure if it's normal or just the battery low. I'll check it after a full charge. Everything else is perfect.
