I’ve really been enjoying this electric fireplace log set. It adds a warm, cozy feel to the room and the flame and ember effects look surprisingly realistic once it’s running. The crackling sound helps complete the atmosphere without being too loud or distracting. One thing I noticed is that there is a slight “new appliance” smell when it’s first used, but it fades after a short period of running and hasn’t been an issue since. It’s not strong, just something to expect during initial use. The heat output works well for supplemental warmth, especially in smaller to medium-sized rooms. I mainly use it for ambiance, but it does a solid job taking the chill off when needed. The different flame and ember color options also make it easy to change the look depending on the mood or season. One of the most convenient features is the remote control, which makes it easy to adjust settings like power, flame effects, heat levels, and brightness without getting up. It’s simple to use and responsive, which makes everyday operation much more comfortable. For value for money, I think it’s pretty good considering the combination of visual effects, heat function, smart controls, and overall build quality. It feels like you’re getting a lot of features compared to simpler electric heaters or basic log inserts. Overall, it’s a stylish and functional piece that adds both comfort and ambiance without the maintenance of a real fireplace.

It is smaller than I expected but it does provide some space heater sized warmth. If someone has a natural fireplace that is not used and does not have gas logs this would be a nice alternative to consider. I have a fake fireplace with a mantel and insert. It provides some warmth in the cold winter months, a tiny bit of ambiance and a narrow but long mantle for some seasonal decorations. Stockings annoy be hung by the chimney with care because the heat source is too close to the mantle. My plan for this insert is to either find a small antique mantle that I can refinish or use parts of to create a more realistic or creative fireplace look. (I do miss my natural fireplace I had at my previous house.) The insert came well packaged and in one piece. As I create my reading room in my quiet basement cozying up with a little fireplace and some built-in bookshelves and my cozy sofa I can’t wait until the antique shows to start and I can look for an old mantel or old wood and trim to build one. Compared to many fake fire units this one is more natural looking and a better price compared to many other options I have explored in depth. The insert looks well made but only time will tell me how long it will work for.

I love this electric fireplace, and it looks great in the "black hole" of our non-functioning woodburning fireplace in our family room. There is virtually no setup, just take it out of the box and plug it in (there is a reflective piece to screw onto the back, but we opted not to use it). It provides nice ambience and some heat if desired (you also have the option of only using the light feature on its own, so in warm seasons you can have the look without the heat). Does it look like a real fire? It looks like a good quality electric fireplace, similar to our pellet stove logs, and when it's turned on the effect of the red or orange colors is quite nice - actually the projected flames that appear on the back wall of our firebox look surprisingly realistic, much better than anticipated (I'm not into the various color options for the little ember box in the front, for that you can select a natural looking color option or go with something more modern like blue or green, but for the "flames" it's red, orange or yellow). There is also the option of a "crackling" sound from a speaker, I prefer silence but that's personal preference, nice to have the option. I chose not to attach the reflective back piece (which please note is glass), because I like the way the projected LED "flames" appear on the back wall of our firebox without it and felt it was unnecessary for us, but it's an option depending on where you are using the unit (especially if you are placing it against a wall it would probably add to the effect - and I'm not sure if it also provides some heat protection for the rear? Maybe something to look into if you are using it against a wall). Some other nice features are that it has a timer and a thermostat, just like many electric heaters, and venting is not necessary - so you can enjoy the visual appeal of a fireplace combined with the ease and convenience of an electric heater. We haven't used the smart function, just the easily operated remote control (very intuitive - note that it takes 3 AAA batteries which are not included). Now the one caveat, and something important to note before ordering if you have a specific place already in mind for this unit: this must be plugged directly into a grounded wall outlet, and must not be plugged into an extension cord or plug strip/ surge protector - and the cord is only 6 ft. long. I didn't know that prior to ordering, I had actually searched the listing and if that was mentioned I did not find the information, but I took a chance and ordered it anyway - and unfortunately the outlet I planned to use is almost 7 feet away. So we are now going to see if our electrician can install another outlet closer - it's a bummer, but still far less expensive than repairing our woodburning fireplace. Since it would cost thousands of dollars to have our woodburning fireplace repaired, this electric fireplace is a great option, even if it costs a little to add another outlet it's worth it to us because we are actually really happy with the look and practicality of this unit. Compared to candles or other decorative options, I feel this is not only good looking but also appreciate the functionality since it offers heating on demand, and still at a relatively affordable price compared to major home repairs/improvement. So, to sum it up, this is a great looking and functioning unit, and if you have an appropriate outlet within 6 feet of where you plan to operate it I would definitely recommend it.

It’s basically a little space heater with a big visual impact. It plugs right in, easy peasy. There is very little setup required! You just attach the mirror piece to the back with 2 thumb screws, then set the ember piece in front. If you don’t want this piece you can leave it off but you won’t get the flame effect. The ember piece doesn’t really attach, it just rests just below where the heat blows out. Something to be aware of - the back mirror piece is a GLASS mirror so be careful while handling. The lights shines on the mirror which is what makes the flame effect. Very clever! Make sure the matte side of the mirror is facing front. It has 3 different light/flame effect settings. One yellowish, one reddish and one that is a red/yellow combo (my preference). There are a couple volume settings for the crackling sound, or you can turn it off. The crackling sound is pretty good but could be better. There are a couple heat settings and it appears you can also change the temp. The remote is handy but boy there are so many settings on it! However you don’t even really need the remote for very basic operation since there is a control panel on the side. (Of course the remote has a lot more buttons than the control panel.) The manual explains everything so that’s very helpful. The logs do not get hot which is nice… the only part that is hot is the bottom area where the ember part is. (That’s where the heat blows out). I really love this electric fireplace! Right now our piano is in front of our real fireplace because we don’t use it for safety reasons (small kids) but I can’t wait to put this in the fireplace and pretend it’s a real fire. ☺️ I would definitely recommend this item!

Review of: Touchstone BurnBrite 22" Free Standing Electric Fireplace Log Set This free standing electric fireplace log set looks nice and warms the room quickly. The set comes with a remote control that requires 2 AAA batteries, and it can also be synced to WIFI to enable Alexa and voice control. The assembly was simple, but the screws that hold the back mirror panel in place would not catch properly soI replaced them to make sure the piece stayed in place. This piece is designed to be inserted into a fireplace, however, it can be used as a free standing heater if you do not have a fire place. Personally, I would have preferred that the log piece had a better option for staying in place, such as screwing it in or something similar to that. The way it is designed, the bottom log piece just sits on a small metal panel and it doesn't really stay in place very well. However, that does not effect the quality or functionality of the piece, it just seems like it would be a better design element to have the bottom log piece securely attached. There are different heat settings, flame settings, and also color options that can be changed easily with the remote. There is also a timer, and the set has a flame crackle sound effect to add a more realistic touch. The fireplace insert is not so large that it seems bulky, but it is big enough to heat a room efficiently. This offers good functionality while the remote control and WIFI capabilities offer excellent convenience. The set also has an attractive visual appearance for the home.

I have an under-TV fireplace built into a long cabinet, and the original fireplace insert stopped working many years ago. I’ve tried more than once to find a replacement that would actually work in that space, and nothing ever fit quite right or looked good enough to justify the effort. When I found this one, I realized it might finally be the solution. And it absolutely was. This fireplace is gorgeous. The flame effect is shockingly realistic, bright, and deep, not flat or cheesy like a lot of electric fireplaces. The ember bed and flame colors are customizable, and the adjustable brightness and flame speed really let you dial in the exact look you want. Once it was in place, it completely transformed the cabinet. It looks like it was made for it. We were able to remove the old broken unit from the furniture and this fit perfectly. Setup was simple and didn’t require installation or modifications, which was a huge relief. The heater is a great bonus. It puts out real warmth, and the adjustable thermostat makes it practical, not just decorative. The crackle sound effect is another feature I didn’t expect to care about, but it actually adds a lot. You can control the volume, so it can be subtle background ambiance or turned off entirely. One of my favorite features is the color control. The lower ember/log area can be changed to different colors, and the main flame brightness can be adjusted independently. There are a lot of combinations, and everything is controlled easily with the remote or smart features. Overall, this is an extremely high-quality electric fireplace with excellent realism and a lot of well-implemented features. After years of a dead fireplace in our cabinet, I finally have one that works, looks beautiful, and adds both warmth and atmosphere. I’m genuinely thrilled with it and would absolutely recommend it if you’re trying to upgrade or replace an existing fireplace opening.

This fireplace insert couldn't be easier to (physically) set up with just 3 pieces to it. It does say not to plug into a surge protector or extension cord, so be aware of the cord length and where you need to place it to be able to plug directly into a wall outlet. I did have to search up how to get it hooked up to my Google Home (there are instructions in the booklet but they didn't work for me). But 5 minutes later I was good to go. That is such a huge bonus to not have to rely on the remote that will inevitably be lost in the couch cushions at some point! The flame effect is realistic and calming, and it's nice to be able to switch between different (again, realistic) colors. My kids love playing around with that and choosing different ones mixed with the different ember colors. The sounds are a nice addition, but I have been using it with the sound off - my house is noisy enough haha - I like the visual effects the most for ambiance, but it's nice having the option for quiet or louder sound effects. The heater works well too, with options for low or high. It's nice to put on low and sit in front of it while I'm down on the floor playing with my kids. High is best for turning it on in the morning to get the chill out of the room. It's essentially a space heater but way better looking. It's also nice to just use for ambiance with the lights and no heat. I love how customizable it all is! With four options to control it (Google Home, remote, phone app, and buttons on the product itself) it has fit seamlessly into our home and isn't something with a bunch of steps or something that's a hassle to actually use so it gets used less and less over time. That alone, plus the quality and ease of set up, makes this such a valuable addition to our living space. It is currently $299 which is a fair price in my opinion for the quality you get. This seems very well thought out and executed and I hope it lasts us a long time!

This log set looks very real when installed in a fireplace. It makes crackling sounds and looks like real flame. It does put off decent heat, although I am a little afraid to run it too long for fear of a high electricity bill. It runs on remote control or an App and is supposed to be Alexa or smart device compatible. I never messed with that part.
