Why did you pick this product vs others?: I picked it because of the price. It is absolutely the cheapest dehumidifier of its size (80 pint) available anywhere. Ours broke and I looked into buying used on marketplace. The best one I could find was an 11 yr old GE model for 50 bucks. A quick check with GE told me their last 3-8 yrs . So I wasn’t paying fifty for something that would break any day like mine just did. The shipping took about 8 days even with Prime which I wasn’t excited about but I went with it for the price. It WORKS GREAT. It has a hose for my basement drain which means I never have to dump it and it looks nice . Don’t know how many years it will last but you can’t beat he price and it totally dried my basement out. After two days running my basement is at 49 % humidity.the hose is just thin plastic hose that pops on so if the thing gets bumped or moved make sure it doesn’t come loose. If that happens it will drain into basin and shut off when full which happened to me on the second day of use but I put it back on and it’s draining just fine. VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PURCHASE.

I don't understand how a dehumidifier that performs so well can be so inexpensive. I have a workshop that suffers from excessive humidity during our long South Carolina summers, and that humidity has at times been so extreme that lumber stored there has been damaged by mold and mildew. So when my 20-plus-years-old dehumidifier went toes-up, I ordered this one in the hopes that it could keep up with the moisture levels. Frankly, I was dubious, given the much lower price listed for this one vs. others of similar capacity and features. It has proven to be up to the job, and I appreciate the quality features like a user-serviceable air filter and a drain hose that keeps me from having to empty the tank every day, plus a quiet fan motor that doesn't disturb my concentration. Given its performance so far, I have high hopes for a long, effective machine life.

This new dehumidifier plugged in yesterday is not working properly. The digital readout reads much lower than the REAL humidity. We have a humidistat that reads 15 points higher than the machine. Which means it is not lowering the humidity.

I keep this little humidifier in the shed that I turned into another man cave so that I could save power by not having the air conditioner on when I'm not in it and things will not get moldy because this baby is pulling out all the moisture in the air. It's been staying pretty dry and I really like how it shuts off once it achieves the humidity level desired. The price was nice too I highly recommend the unit and I think you should get it.

I'm pleased with this purchase. You definitely cannot beat the price. There are too many buttons compared to older models and I am old school where I just want to turn it off to driest setting. To achieve this you will need to use clothes drying and I tested it for 22 hours and the bucket was completely full to my surprise. I saw other reviews where people said they were not getting the moisture withdraw well I sure did. The hose included is too small. If it was twice the length it would be perfect but now I'll need to buy a cheap garden hose to fit the supplied hose inside or buy a quality extension cord which I saw at Walmart for around $9 which says it's indoor/outdoor. That's the approach I will likely take. Outlets in my basement are not very close to the floor drain so that's what I need to do. Others may may have more outlets and it will work perfect for them. I do not want to empty water tank on a daily basis. My basement is only used for laundry so it's not finished. It does have built in energy savings settings and was easy to set up. Just remove from box and plug it in. I was leery with the price but bought the 3 year extended warranty for less than $10 so I am covered. Thanks Totte!

ordered 3 of these and 1 unit was defective but amazon replaced with 0 issues. the units work great with lowering humidity in 12x12 bedrooms but the humidity display on the unit seems to be off by 5-10% on the low side. have to have the set point of the unit at 35% to maintain 45% in the room. wish there was a way to turn off the display but some tape over it works well enough. overall great for the price and have to dump them about every 24hours as it fills the bucket up.

Mechanically seems fine, removes a lot of water compared to my old dehumidifiers ( I had peltier,rotary desiccant and recently a compact compressor too)..Noise is just fan noise mostly ,almost don't hear compressor on. It does consumes a lot, about 400W running and even more for starting ( I know because I tried to use 1kw power station unsuccessfully) . If all is good why only 2 stars then?..The electronics,specifically humidistat or humidity sensor is a joke, worse than a $5 weather displays I have around. The bathroom was thick in humidity after shower but this dehumidifier displayed about 55%which is not right so I checked with two humidity displays and multiple times, sometimes shows consistent readings but others was off by more than 20% sometimes. I reached out to seller/manufacturer about it, if this unit was bad or know issue with this model etc. They lied and treated me like an idiot saying all it is fine and normal as in all dehumidifier etc ... So I am posting photo of another smaller peltier dehumidifier that shows a consistent within range readings while this dehumidifier is off by more than 20%.. So that's why I gave 2 stars for customer support (if lied now prod is fine ,I don't expect warranty support later if prod fails ) and defective humidity sensor so 'normal' mode doesnt work since setting humidity level is meaningless. Finally, there is 'auto' mode but manual doesn't explain neither seller.
