Description

The TOTO Carlyle II One-Piece Elongated 1.28 GPF Universal Height Skirted Toilet with CEFIONTECT projects TOTO’s mark of excellence: “People Planet Water.” The TOTO Carlyle II features a sleek, one-piece design that will immediately upgrade the appearance of your bathroom. The one-piece design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also offers the benefit of being easier to clean versus a two-piece toilet. By removing the gap between the tank and bowl, we eliminate the hiding place for dirt and debris. An additional benefit of the one-piece toilet is that there is no threat of leaks from bolts or gaskets that can occur in two-piece toilets. The Skirted Design of the TOTO Carlyle II conceals the trapway, which enhances the elegant look of the toilet and adds an additional level of sophistication. Skirted Design toilets also eliminate the need to reach behind the bowl to clean the nooks and crannies of the exterior trapway. The TOTO Carlyle II features TOTO’s Tornado Flush, a hole-free rim design with dual-nozzles that creates a centrifugal washing action that assists in rinsing the bowl more efficiently. This version of the TOTO Carlyle II includes CEFIONTECT, a layer of exceptionally smooth glaze that prevents particles from adhering to the ceramic. This feature, coupled with Tornado Flush, assists to reduce the frequency of toilet cleanings, minimizing the use of water, harsh chemicals, and time required for cleaning. The TOTO Carlyle II is designed in TOTO’s Universal Height, which allows for a more comfortable seat position across a wide range of users. The Carlyle II is ADA compliant and meets the standards for EPA WaterSense, and California’s CEC and CALGreen requirements. The TOTO Carlyle II has a left-hand chrome trip lever and includes a TOTO SoftClose seat. From the Manufacturer You want fixtures that can do it all with effortless beauty. There is only one bath manufacturer that can deliver all of that TOTO, a global leader committed to creating products that connect you with water in ways that enrich the flow of your everyday life.

  • Best Toilet If You Can Get One Made in the U.S.A.
I loved my Toto so much, I had to buy another. Although I have a strict budget for home improvements, the water usage efficiency was the key determining factor in my buying decision...along with the fact that this puppy does its business in a matter of seconds....about 10-15 seconds from flush to silence! One would think it was motorized. We all must conserve water as climate change wreaks more havoc on the environment (increasing draughts), and with greater efficiency comes increased savings on your water/sewer bill. The other reviewers with four or more stars have already explained the little quirks with regard to installation, but once armed with the info Michael supplied above, you will be set to go. HERE'S THE KICKER: Toto has manufacturing plants worldwide. I bought the same make/model and color within 12 months of each other. The first was Made in America. The second was made in China. THE "MADE IN AMERICA" TOTO TOILETS ARE HANDS DOWN THE BEST TOILETS ON THE MARKET, PERIOD! NO ONE CAN MAKE THINGS LIKE AMERICANS! The second Toto I bought was made in China. The mold they used to make the exoskeleton is a joke, as it looks like it was "welded" together near the base (at seat level), not like the American made Toto which is so sleek and perfectly designed and manufactured. Second, the Chinese version's top lid doesn't fit flush nor snug ... it just sits there and can fall off if anyone were to push it with their hand. The Chinese have no quality control. Then there are the parts. The Chinese seat is a joke and is the cheapest and flimsiest plastic you can imagine, while the U.S.A. made one is sturdy and solid! Go figure. To top it off, the Chinese version takes twice as long to refill and shut off, compared to the U.S.A. made version. I know, I've had both! LESSON: Only buy the U.S.A. made Toto's as the best of everything is still made in the good ole U.S.A. Strange, but true. ... show more

  • It's a Toto so what's not to like? But....
Toto toilets have a well-earned reputation. We were certainly influenced by their ownership by friends and personal experience. But here are a couple of caveats, at least for the Carlyle-2 model: 1) The toilet sits a little high for some people. But to each their own. 2) THIS IS A BIG NOTE: To accommodate the skirt around the base and allow the toilet to bolt down to the floor, the toilet outflow does not sit directly on the drain flange not bolt to it as with most toilets. Instead there is a rubber gasket into a plastic pipe into which the toilet's outflow inserts at the BACK of the toilet. This pipe then curves forward under the toilet and then down into the flanged drain. The standard pipe that comes with the toilet requires a rough in space of 12" between the wall behind the toilet and the center of the drain. If you don't have that much distance, you must separately order the shorter 10" pipe (here on Amazon). You will need to attach this pipe to the drain and to the floor (1/4" plugs and screws supplied) before installing the toilet. I highly recommend getting a Ferco rubber toilet gasket (~$8) instead of using a wax ring. Makes it much easier to install and to mark and drill the floor holes for securing the pipe. 3) The soft-lowering seat can be awfully sloooooooowwwww. I can't imagine anybody getting the model that automatically lifts the seat by motion sensing. I've seen it in their showroom and it is weird. Like Little Bathroom of Horrors. But again, to each their own. 4) The packaging with which Amazon's Plumbers Outpost ships is so secure that you better allot an hour and plenty of energy to tearing through the thick layers of sprayed in packing foam and subsequent clean up. Otherwise, it's a cool top of the line toilet. ... show more

  • I am very pleased.
My house is about six years old. The builder put in hardwood floors, granite counter tops and what must have been the cheapest toilets he could find. I had to have one toilet rebuilt within 3 years and when the second one needed rebuilding, we decided to have both of them replaced. I asked a contractor friend to recommend the best toilet and he recommended Toto. Consumer Reports and others backed him up. I had no idea that there were so many shapes, sizes, styles and flushing systems for toilets. Unfortunately none of the plumbing supply companies had any Toto products in stock, so I had to do all of my research online. I read dozens of reviews, watched YouTube videos, etc. and narrowed down the features I wanted. I picked this Toto because I wanted a one piece with a sleek design that makes cleaning around the toilet, the dirtiest place in the bathroom easier, it also makes changing out the flushing system, should it need it much easier as the tank does not need to be removed, it has the dual flushing system where the water swirls around the bowls instead of drips down the bowl which is another feature that makes cleaning much easier - you don't have all those holes under the rim that get nasty, the lid is included which isn't true of all Toto models, it is a water saver, and it is a comfort level height. It had all of the features I was looking for. As some of the reviewers had noted, it does have a little bit louder flush, but only slightly so and probably only because I was listening for it. The Amazon price was far cheaper than my contractor friend could get it at cost. They delivered it to my door. It was very easy to unpack. Everything to install it came with it except perhaps for the ring that goes on the floor assuming that you have the standard 12" width from the wall. My contractor friend said that it has a better flushing capacity than anything on the market because it has a 3" as opposed to a 2" drain. Given how much use toilets get and how expensive plumbers are, I wanted something that would last. These look much, utilize state of the art technology, work well and are easy to clean inside and out. I recommend them. ... show more
