Bought this last minute for a trip to Italy where the forecast called for rain. It packed easily into my carry on, was lightweight and easy to carry during the day. This umbrella is strong, folds to a nice small size, and automatically opens with a button. It can take a bit of muscle to fold back up and was a bit pricy for what it is.

This one replicates an umbrella I have already owned for many years but am afraid will wear out or get stolen or lost. My old one is the same brand and the new one is equally easy to close and stow in my purse. Two umbrellas I received as gifts opened nicely but were far too difficult to close again. Even though I lift weights, I'd rather not injure my hands wrestling an umbrella, particularly if its outside my car door in the rain.

The cost was very reasonable and it actually helps the environment from being made from recycled plastic components. I will start this by admitting that I live in beautiful, sunny San Diego. It rarely rains. The weather changes so infrequently that I don’t even bother paying attention to the forecast. Which is why this little guy comes in handy. Its small, ultra-compact frame makes it easy to just toss in my bag so that it is always with me in the unlikely event a rain shower pops up. I work in the city and often have to park and walk several blocks as part of my commute. Even if it happens infrequently, getting stuck in an impromptu rainstorm can really ruin a day. Having this little “just in case” umbrella helps keep me dry and my days unruined.

It looks like a white cord snapped after one use. It cannot stay open anymore. For more than $25 this was an absolute waste of money. Apparently the brand name isn’t what it used to be. Terrible piece of garbage. Maybe I got a defective one. I’ll never know.
