I haven't used it yet but it is advertised to open AND close at the release of the button. It is a large umbrella which sheds water. When it closes the top/rain side closes inward and upward so if you are getting into a car you can open the door get in and not have to fumble with using two hands to close the umbrella and get water all over yourself and the interior of the car. I bought this umbrella to see how practical it would be for me and use it, while raining, while getting into my vehicle. For this purpose alone, it does work and is neat I suppose. The main dislike I have is that this umbrella is too small (in diameter) for me. I’m not a large person and this barely covers me. Light rain is fine, but anything more, and if there’s wind, you’ll want the 55” Totes. This umbrella is a good in-between. It closes and opens snappy and fairly small and compact.
