My heat pump / air handler from the 1980s died just a couple weeks before the largest cold freeze in my lifetime, which was followed by one of the largest snow storms in my lifetime. So this unit got plenty of trial! I originally wanted to just fix my old reliable, and after trying a capacitor and switch, I decided to CONSIDER something new. Then I saw the ERV. Full stop. The ERV sold this unit. The ERV only. More on that later. Be sure and read that part as its more important IMHO. PRICE: Very good price. 5 stars. VALUE: 5 stars. Price for high quality is spot on. HEAT OUTPUT: It EFFORTLESSLY kept a 1940s commercial building (converted into a home) nice and snugly warm even with single digit temps for around a month. My old unit would have been struggling big time. AC OUTPUT: We went from cold to hot in a couple months, and right now the AC is on. While I will admit it hasn't been hot enough yet to thoroughly test the AC, I don't expect any issues. I will update later. BRAND RECOGNITION: I was told Greer owns this company, and Greer has an extremely high reputation. Regardless. Tosot looks like the above average brand and while YES there are better brands out there, the price point is where I wanted. INSTALLATION: My installer said "You're a plumber. You're smart. Do what you can and I'll do the rest". So, I attempted to drill a hole through the wall (bought a drill bit kit for masonry work JUST FOR this job) but the 1940s concrete blocks are almost completely solid and made with REAL concrete! Not foam filled lightweight block like today. 10 minutes of holding the hammer drill over my shoulder height, and only getting 1/4" into the block.. NO. JUST NO! So I shipped the bits back and cut a "Grand Canyon" of a slot right down my interior wall, through the 3/4" thick chipboard, and ran the lines IN THE WALL to the bottom, where the original air handler holes were. My building is OLD as MOSES! I do NOT want to further the weakening of the structure with more holes, so I used what I had. I had to finish trim the inside after the install, and YES, it's obvious, but I'm not that superficial. I don't care. It just has to work. It's not ugly, it's just neutral. The unit itself is beautiful. I mounted the indoor unit at an ever so slight angle towards the drain, and its obvious, but again... I DON'T CARE. It just has to work. The outdoor unit arrived with dents and crushed fins, and I tried my best to get a refund, but they were having no part of it. In the end, I am man enough to admit that THEY WERE RIGHT at Tosot, and the unit was in fact just fine for install. I dealt with Tosot through THEIR communication email / phone options PER AMAZON AND TOSOT RULES, and Tosot sent me a partial refund for the damages. I am very happy with how that went. I installed the outdoor unit on a VERY sturdy table that I built just for the unit, using 4x4s and treated 2x10s. I painted it all, and my HVAC tech (family member who does HVAC for a living) did all the final cutting and vacuuming. I installed all the wiring and ran all the lines. I also built a mini room (see pictures) to shade the unit and protect the tubes and wiring from a pitbull that has a chewing history. Id give my liver for that dog. Have to keep the unit safe AND her as well. The room turned out quite nice for an old industrial farm house. ERV: Read this part! I cook a lot, and I mean a LOT. Most of my home is a commercial kitchen, and I prepare 90% of my meals from scratch, so when I saw there was a device that would suck the smoke out of the home when I messed up supper, I was all over that. My place has no actual stove, so no oven vent. Its not wired for a stove either. The ERV displaces smoke filled air with fresh air from outside, but it also adjusts the humidity and temperature of said air. Its EXACTLY what I needed. Furthermore, I grow mushrooms in my basement, and spores are bad for lungs, and this will help during those times of mushroom growing. And lastly, I paint a lot and remodel continuously. I often use oil based paints, and they stink up the place with toxic fumes. This solves THAT problem too! the ERV is a godsend! its 95% of why i bought this unit. I dont regret it. Its on right now. I did have to contact Tosot directly to figure out (twice) how to turn the dang thing on, and MODE + iFEEL (on remote control) at same time activates the ERV. I wrote it on the back of the remote with a sharpie in huge letters! READ THIS TOO! I was unable to get ANY new hole through my wall, (due to OLD hard as petrified wood concrete) so I was unable to attach the ERV to the end of the unit as intended. I DO understand that FOR OPTIMAL BENEFIT AND ASTHETICS you SHOULD mount it on the end, but the ERV comes with 2 cords, and I used the longer one, and it's almost stretched tight, but the ERV is 18" off the ground. IT STILL WORKS! I am sure to never place anything in front of (or block in any way) the indoor or outdoor ERV units, and I don't expect any issues. The engineers highly recommend against this type of install, but that was my only option, and I can attest that IT STILL WORKS! NOTE in the last pic the ERV UNDER THE TABLE as indicated by the small white light. I also like that most ERV use will be during summer months, and the outdoor portion of my ERV being in my "little room" and close to the cold concrete will help cool the air just a little. Oh, and yes the fresh baked sourdough was moved after the picture, as pitbull LOVES fresh baked sour dough bread!!! There is another brand who sells the ERV, but after hours of shopping, I was never able to locate one of their units that included an ERV, so they must not think too highly of it. Tosot has far better ERV support and purchase options. Plus, they're cheaper. All in all, I can't recommend this mini split enough! Im a hard person to please in terms of item durability and dependability. I don't GAF about the superficial stuff, I just live far too busy of a lifestyle to be fighting with issues, and I'll gladly pay more for durability. I feel like this TOSOT Aoraki mini split system is the perfect setup. Im 100% satisfied. Oh and the remote control is VERY VERY nice as well! The company is superb with communications, and they sent me a roll of the tape after the install that had been lost when the unit box arrived damaged. My only gripe is the company clearly knows the packaging for their outdoor unit is poor. It needs MORE PROTECTION! MORE STYRAFOAM! a LARGER BOX! and BETTER STRAPPING!! Someone in packaging cut far too many corners on outdoor unit packaging. This unit is heavy, and the box just isn't tough enough to endure today's shipping. Other reviews address this as well, so don't act like its not known. Please TOSOT address this issue. Otherwise keep up the great work! BUY IT!

I don't normally leave reviews but i thought this deserved one. Ordered this unit for my home and after professional installation, there was an error code when i turned it on. I reached out to the seller and expressed my issue. They promptly responded asking for some specifics and a few pictures. Once i provided what they asked for, they promptly shipped out a replacement unit. I've since then had it installed and everything is working perfectly and i am enjoy cool air just in time for the summer. Good customer services is under rated these days.

It's a champ. It's a Gree+ on the inside a very competitive priced Amazon product on the outside. It uses so little power, the WiFi module is very glitchy, only issue, very well made, very very efficient. Never buy anything else. I have one LG, three of these, LG is very premum, this is better at 1/2 the total cost. Don't buy anything less than 25 SEER2 as electricity isn't getting cheaper.

Works great. Seems like a great quality. More feature packed than others I had looked at before buying this one. The only issue is the shipping of the condenser unit. Not sure if it’s their fault or UPS, but the first one came dented. They replaced it after a bit of back and forth. They would benefit from better packaging.

I picked up this mini split for a mudroom addition I've been building mainly for heat since it’s November. Even though UPS beat the box up pretty badly on the way here, the unit inside was in perfect condition. I was expecting some damage because the packaging looked rough, but everything worked perfectly once installed. The heater kicks on fast, runs quietly, and has no trouble keeping my space warm even on the colder nights. I’ll test the cooling once summer rolls back around, but for now the heating performance alone makes me glad I bought it. The ERV is a nice bonus as I made the mudroom addition 99% airtight when I was building it, so I can still get some fresh air circulating into the room. Will definitely look at TOSOT again when I start laying out my new house.
