Unit is well built and is fairly easy to setup on gree app once you get the gang of it. It might help customers if they updated their app instructions to include turn off VPN.. This unit was listed as Google and Alexa compatible. It was not. How we the good people at Sain remedied this by updating the description. So supper is decent. ... show more

First of all my unit came in perfect condition build quality is solid, no leaks from usage ( which has been a couple of months) it's fairly easy to assemble ( I had the most trouble with attaching the connectors to the hose) it functions as it should keeping my place nice comfortably cool the unit isn't too noisy not unbearable but you'll now it's on and running the wifi connectivity is practically a no brainer ( the main reason I specifically purchase this AC unit) only complaint no instructions on how to replace the freon and the app won't connect to my Google home the IT team needs to work on that because customer service is none responsive, outside of that it's the color I wanted and does what is supposed to. Side note: attaching the vent piece to the outside of the window panel the faces out from the window ( it clips on) then attach the hose and connector they'll also clip on. ... show more

We purchased this unit to cool only our primary suite at night while keeping the rest of the house at a higher temperature to save in energy bills. It does the job in terms of cooling, but there are a few drawbacks worth noting. The biggest issue is that the unit cycles on and off every 1–2 minutes compared to our central AC system which typically holds the temperature for 30 minutes or more before running again, this was super disappointing. After some observation, I realized that the vent design allows warm air to enter the room, causing the unit to run more frequently. Additionally, when it's not running, it seems to let the cooled air escape, which reduces overall efficiency. While I considered returning the unit, it's extremely heavy and difficult to move. Lifting or transporting it could easily result in injury if you’re not careful. Overall, it cools well, but the vent design and frequent cycling are significant downsides to consider—especially if you're deciding on which unit to purchase or if this will help reduce your energy bill. Our energy cost was more for the month running this portable unit versus running our central air throughout the house. Don't make the same mistake we did and just run your Central Air. ... show more

I tried 3 different portable units and this one blew the others away. It gets cold really fast, the remote is great, and it doesn’t create an excessive amount of water drainage like others. I can keep it on high all night with no worries that the bucket will overflow at night. It also has ample extendable pieces for big windows. I can’t say enough about this unit.     • Not standard size - measure carefully!!!!!!

I have high, short windows, so I measured a thousand times over. The thing said adjustable from 9" to 61". It's not unless you own a table saw. The main piece you put in the window for a vent is about 24". So its not adjustable for anything close to 9". (My windows are 20") The instructions say to just cut it. (Like with what?) OK. So I went to my local lumber yard and had them cut to 20" as I'm not real sure who has tools to cut super hard thick plastic lying around their house. Cool. The vent hose is 59", but with the way you install it, you only have about 50". So I ordered a longer vent hose from amazon. The 2 universal diameter vent hoses are 5.1 and 5.9. I measured mine at 5.6 and figured the 5.9 was what I was looking for. Nope. So this unit doesnt conform with usual standards. For the day I had it set up (on a platform to reach the window) it worked nicely. It didn't leak and you don't need to do a drain hose. It did pull a lot of moisture out of the house and cooled perfectly. When I woke up in the morning the vent hose had detached, even though I sealed it with HVAC tape. I'm not sending it back because it will be too much of a pain in the ass. So I will somehow get a higher platform, send back the "universal" vent hose and pray for the day when I can afford to have a new central A/C installed. ... show more

Connects to wifi fine, has an ok weight (though might be heavy for someone smaller to drain the evap tank if needed), but there is no temperature control via Alexa which is a bummer. It only shows up as a wifi plug with no other controls. The app works ok though, just would be nice to integrate into Alexa. ... show more
